Intake Manifold

chris, would you be able to tackle this task or will it be better to take it some where, i would rather get the mk8 intake shorter runner then to get a cobra's and do it that, if the mk8 would make more power why not intall them on the cobra w/ a mod. mk8 intake

I just sent a PM to Mr Wilson about it and Its definately something I could handle as I have done one already.

I think the shortening of the runners on the Mark manifold is more work than it is worth.
But cutting it apart and porting it along with radiusing all the runners is worth doing.
I told him the last one I did for 250 and I think it was a fair price for the amount of work involved.
I have a spare manifold here I could do and then send out to shorten your downtime, but if we did it that way I would need a small deposit untill your stock one was sent back to me.

On a side note, Know you will need to have a way to lean it out afterwards based on Ponies dyno and A/F measurements.
If it were me I would either get it dyno tuned or use a device like the MAFterburner. http://www.mafterburner.com/

waht the cost of the intake work and explaint to me what the imrc are and what they do and what the purpose of deleted and how you deleted them. know you got me wanted soem intake work done........i might take you up on putting a deposite down for that intake you have now.....

I thought I covered the cost in my previous post. The last one I did I charged 250 for and I think its a fair price for the amount of work done.

The IMRCs are intake manifold runner controls. The head has two ports per cylinder. One is squareISH and the other is round. There is a butterfly the closes off the round one while under 3350 RPMs to aid in torque production and opens up over 3350 to aid in high RPM power.
Ford came out with a spacer that takes place of the IMRC that is open all the time with no butterflies and it makes even more power through being less restrictive.Only problem is you lose a tad bit of down low torque. If you have 4.10 gears you will never miss the torque loss because you will always be in the powerband.
Well there is a way to remove the butterflies and rods they swing on from the stock IMRCs and basically make you own Deletes.
I had the REAL deletes on my car and I started to remove a set for a customer but he ended up going another route. So I have never completed a set of modified stock ones but its not too terribly difficult.

Well you need to figure out what YOUR goals are with the car.

If you want to keep it N/A then I would take the factory manifold off and have someone cut it apart and port it.

If you plan on going the Supercharged route then I say go with the Cobra manifold.

If you want to make a LOT of power with a supercharger then I say cut apart a cobra manifold and shorten the runners.

If you need any help feel free to ask.
