Hello Again ,
I failed to introduce myself when I joined this site ..That I am in error ..It was quickly pointed out by another member that my request or post was in there words a simple 12v issue ..and I should have introduced myself so that I would not look like a D ---- C-Bag ... I am not really concerned about my appearances simply just looking for answers ...I thank all of you that have responded and I have tried a few of your suggestions (Yet no Fix) I appreciate that some of you have replied.. Bottom line is as I said maybe I should have simply sent a post to introduce myself first but I did not .And if anyone has any other suggestions about my sound system I welcome your input
Respectively,

Don't let the "Frog" getchya lol. You sent me a PM and I tried to answer you but it said your amount was exceeded.

Anyway, your amp is most likely shot. I just sold one to a member on here a couple of weeks ago. The stock amps are a common problem for going out. You can sometimes find another member on here that will sell you one on the side or you can check ebay for a replacement but I myself would not put anything 16 years old back in my car because the problem is just going to come back again.

I would go ahead and get whatever brand CD player you like and put that in. You can get the wiring harness at most auto parts stores. Your speaker size is 5X7 - 6X8 for the doors and rear. Either one will work. Some members here choose to go round with their speakers and if that's your choice, then go for it. I'm just telling you the stock size that you would need for an easy swap.

Do not use the factory speaker wire. Run your own wire through the door grommet. You'll need to remove the door panel to do this and it takes a little work but it's worth it. Running the rear speaker wire is childs play. The hardest part about the rear would be removing the seat belt bolt that is right beside the seat so that you can hide your wiring and make it all look good.

If you want to beef it up even more, then some amp(s) can be added and I would go to the trunk with those. Power wire needs to be ran down one side and your RCA cables need to be ran down the other side for the best noise reduction. Don't be cheap when it comes to the wire you buy, especially RCA cables. For now, I would just get that factory deck out and the factory speakers out and replace them. Ground your stereo as close as possible to solid steel, try not to use the black ground wire on the harness because it's very long and you will end up with engine noise and cooling fan noise or w/e else noise it can grab before the sound hits the speakers.

I think I have more than answered your question about the factory stereo that you have that doesn't play or have any sound coming through it. IMO, the factory stereo is a pile of :shifty::shifty::shifty::shifty:! <---notice the color?

Sometimes Laser will come through on here and show some deals he has found for our cars, dealing with electronics and or speakers. I don't know what your money situation is like so it's hard to tell you what to look for and where to go look for it. We have Kenwood, Clarion, Pioneer ect haters in here. You buy what you like. If you want a stereo from walmart, then go for it. Just don't be cheap when it comes to the wire you buy. In other words, I really wouldn't use any wire from walmart besides some of their Monster wire that some carry.

Want sounds again, trash the factory system and you'll be happy you did.

Oh yeah, welcome to the site and when possible, use the search function. It will prevent you from being pounced on by other members. You might get lucky on some days and catch a spoon feeder but it's rare. Good luck!

nolimit pretty much said it all.

Welcome to the site and hang around a bit. You will find a TON of useful and helpful things about your car on here. I used to think I knew about everything on Mark VIIIs but this place really taught me allot. Still learn new stuff every day. Learn the search function and it will save you some headache too.

Your current issue would have been hard to find an answer bu searching since its not as common as say coil conversion or blend door issues.

nolimit gave the best advice you can really get for your situation.
There are two fuses for the amp though. I know you said you replaced the cig lighter one but there is another micro fuse under the hood. I forget if its a 10 amp or 20 amp but its for the amp only and there is a good chance its blown.

Also I am an ebay hound and but tons of styff on there so if you tell me what ya need and what your budget is I can find you the best deals around.
I just scored a set of Audiobahn 6x8s for $35 shipped and then bought another set of Rockford Power series 6x8 for $48 shipped and slapped them in my truck. Cant believe how great it sounds for well under $100. :)

Let me know if I can help.

But he IS from SOCAL...

What do want? :D

+2 scrap everything and start over. once you remove the stock speakers you will see what we mean (the magnets on the back of the stock jbl speakers is a joke, its like 2") not to mention that all the "woofers" are wired in series right to left the only thing that actually fades is the tweeters. many have swapped headunits to have horrible sound. since ive pulled everything and just started over it sounds 100 times better

welcome to the forum. It's fun on here. Lots of good info. i have 3 extra amps if you decide to take that route though.
