is 97 STS a good year to buy?

my friend is looking for a STS around 4k
so far we found tons of 94-95s
and one 97 that he really likes it and I do too, I told him to wait and get a newer 98-00 for a bit more

what do you guys say what years are absolutly the ones to avoid

97 is still the sexiest bodystyle for the seville to date.
i've had a few electrical issues, fuel pump, starter, battery, alternator

nothing too serious yet.
