I'm looking for some options here guys. I just came from the Jag Forum. Over there I found out that you guys now have a reasonably priced coilover for the 2000-2002 LS. I'm trying to find out if the mounts are the same on my Jaguar S-type 2003 V8 with CATS system. I don't care if the cats works. I just need the mounts to match.

If this is not the case, can anyone tell me if there is a coilover set up for the 2003 LS and if it will cross over?

Mounts are the same for all year ls'es. 2000-2002(gen1) and 2003-2006(gen2) have the same mounts. By the saying 2000+, I'm guessing they got lazy and just did that to include all Ls'es from 2000 and up.

These should work with whatever jag year and model shares the same mounts as the ls

The ls pictured is an 05 LS. Once againe, these coilsovers work for ls'es from 2000-2006, or all LS'es.

Post up here if jag guys get some and install them please, or you do. Would love to see more of these if they get installed.

It will probably work. Most of the LS suspension parts say "Jaguar" on them anyway.

A better route would be finding a wrecked 03-05 S-Type R and swapping over that entire suspension...you would also get brembos in doing so.

I think the points are the same but someone on here had issues getting the jaguar STR knuckle to swap over to our cars. I do know there are KW coilovers for the S-Type.

And there are Thunderbird coilovers from KW which should mount to the LS and also the S-Type. And KW makes stype coilovers also if you weren't aware.

There is one other factor to consider. The S-Type sport and R both come with the CATS (computer assisted technology system) struts, and I'm almost positive that the mounts are different. Does your cars have anything like this? It adjust dampening while driving.

No, the LS never got that.

That is what I have done. I took the front spindles, hubs, rotors, and calipers as well as the entire rear end including parking breaks (cables and servo for parking switch) from an S-type "R". I've custom painted them and polished the break lines. The uppers and lower "A" arms are the same in both cars.
Here is the car with lowering springs now. I haven't put the "R" components on yet.

This is how I want it to sit with coilovers. (not rubbing on 20x10.5" wheels!!)

As for now I'm working on remodeling the engine bay (pics soon to come). Then I'll install the calipers. After that. I'm going to strip the black paint off the wheels and do a mix of polished and brush spokes. Then comes the custom built carbon fiber rear defuser.

Then coilovers. I know KW makes them for the S-type but they are the Variant 3's and are around $3000-$4000. I want to build a S-type to show that anyone can build one like a BMW. If I can't I want to have the parts made so other people can.

They look exactly like the first pic/post in the coilover thread

I'm not seeing what your seeing. At the bottom of our shock the mount is "U" shaped. On all the pics in the coilover thread it is a round tube like mount with the bushing inside.

that is what he is saying, at the bottom of your shock may be a "U" shaped mount, but at the bottom of our shock is "round tube like mount with the bushing inside"

there is no different option, every LS ever has that kind of mount.

That's a damn nice S-Type. If I were to get a Jag it would be a 05 XJR but STR's are sportier and lighter.
