Thanks to the great help from member slowmkviii, we got the car on springs today.

The car rides Awesome. The front Tokico Blues are a very well designed and valved shock. The front end does not porpoise at all even when braking and it takes bumps in the road like a car on air. To be honest you would never know it is on springs by driving it. ;)

I cannot give a fair assessment on the way the car handles because it is currently on squishy S-rated skinny tires up front and stock size street tires on the back that are getting down on the tread but I did take it around a curvy county road here close to home averaging 60 mph going into curves with a suggested 45mph speed limit and the car felt very stable and firm. No body roll at all from what I could tell and considering the tires on the car now, this was very commendable.

The front ride height is pretty close to stock but the rear does sit higher. It's nothing too drastic at all though and doesn't have the 4x4 mode look. I used isolators and perches on the tops and bottoms of the rear springs.

slowmkviii drove the car and said the ride for a sprung MarkVIII is one of the best he has experienced.

Now we'll see what the short times tell me. :shifty:

What are you shooting for? I'd think anything under a 1.6 or 1.7 would be great for our cars

Congrats! I told you that you wouldn't be disappointed! It rides so much better than on air.

Thanks! :D I am thoroughly impressed with the conversion and am glad that I chose the parts wisely with other's input on the matter also. I'll bet money this setup walks all over a Strutmasters conversion. ;)

Chopping off tenths in the 1/4 mile is not like chopping off tenths on short times. Generally, Mark VIIIs with short times of 1.6-1.7 are power adder cars (nitrous/blower). All of the rest run 1.8-2.0+ short times. I would hope for a 1.8x 60' time which is typical of a low 13 second Mark which is exactly what I am aiming for

;) I love my tokicos, but I'm on Eibachs, and yeah, strutmaster sucks

Most guys on air will say springs will never feel the same, I for one think springs are better...as long as you don't go the cheap route

Did you remove the air compressor it's heavy.

Nice job guys, I think you'll be happy with the trouble free ride.

I'll bet your 110% correct, haha. I need to look into doing something else with the front end setup on my car. Just too soft.

what codes are you seeing? i shut my switch off so only on start up it says check air ride. with no compressor i want to remove mine and the smog pump for weight reasons, but just curious what does it say?

Give your car at least a month, for the springs to settle. You should prolly put about 200lbs of weight in the back, just because the car is so nose heavy.

Or buy some length of battery cable and relocate it to the trunk, more rear weight and less front weight, and a cleaner engine bay

How long have you been on the forum? :bash:

I heard you went with super coupe springs did the ride height lower some? Id like to see some pics of how it looks, and if it looks good ill be looking for a set of sc springs in the future.

It says "Thanks, I Feel Better" on startup. That's it. :p

Ha seriously, it says Air Ride Switch Off and that's it.

ummm it looks like a 4x4...ill stick with my strutmasters for now and in the future do the eibachs. has anyone used the h&r mn-12 v6 springs? they have a few sets on ebay for sale.
