hey guys.been a while sent i last posted.i quit the lincoln dealership and went into buisness for myself, because i couldnt stand to see the dealer rape the customers and the techs.my partner/dad just bought me a 2001 ls with the 3.9 with 109 k on it.i can do anything on the vehicle but my memorie is rusty.the idle is jumping when in park and worse when in gear.it isnt missing .is this the pcv elbow issue thats causing my rpm to surge.you cant see the tach jumping ,just feal it.feels nice to get out of my 190e and into a car that has a awsome look and drives and rides great,.thanks for the input.see ya on the boards

The PCV elbow issue only effects the V6 engine. You could still have a vacuum leak. A common issue with both the v6 and v8 is the IAC (idle air control). It can be cleaned with carb cleaner. Your MAF sensor could be dirty, that's caused idle issues for me in the past.

i figure it out.the car came from a auction and its a as is ,i ran a comp test on it and the comp test was ok,seen better,i used my bore scope and seen where all the exhaust valves have eyebrowed the exhaust valves.you can disconnect all the injectors on that side and she runs on half a engine, but wont if if you do that to the other side.kinda sucks.guess i get to pull the heads after i put some head gaskets on a 01 lightning.let you know how it turns out.

I had a similar issue fixed under warranty. They told me the airbox was coming loose. It felt like I had 8 bad coils. Car would surge and lurch at varying times. They say they tightened it up. No issues since.
