I just bought my 2002 lincoln ls and its really clean and well taken care of inside and out. My A/C work but don't blow cold air. I notice that if its hot outside it blow hot air, and if it cool outside it blows cool air. So it depend on the temp outside. What can be the problem so I know how to move forward and what price range I'm looking at to fix it. I really want to fix this. Can someone help me to figure this out?

There could be lots of causes for this, and you will have to get it checked. It could be as simple as a broken wire or as complicated as a trashed compressor and expansion valve.

For your symptoms, the odds are that you have little to no refrigerant (R-134a, Suva). This can be verified by checking the pressure at the low or high side port (while the engine is off). If it is low/no refrigerant, then someone will have to find and fix the leak. The receiver/dryer should be replaced. Someone will have to determine how much compressor oil is left in the system and add as needed. Then a full vacuum will have to be pulled on the system to boil out all the moisture and verify that the leak is fixed. After that, the correct amount of R-134a will have to be added.

In short, if you have to ask then take it to a Ford/Lincoln dealer or a qualified AC shop.

Okay, I'll take it to an AC repair shop soon. Hope it's not some major.

If it's just in need of a compressor and you're relatively handy with a wrench, it's definitely a DIY job. You will still need to get an A/C shop to recharge the system.
