Just got 255/35R18 tires on Jaguar Cygnus rims with no problems

In case anyone was wondering. No scrub front or back and fits fine. They will be slightly under compared to OE size so 70 MPH will be more like 65. But otherwise all good. The under-size also gives the same effect as if you switched to 3.73 rear gears with the stock tire size and 17" rims. Lowers the car about 3/4" from stock height with stock 17" rims and tires as well.

The Cygnus rims are 18x8.5 +49mm offset for comparison to other rims.

The car is only 1/4" lower from stock height before tires so it's essentially stock looking. If anything it looks like the tires are too small. I have to drop the car another 1/2" or so.
