Just got rear ended! Bumper destroyed

Yep. Well its at about 98% I can nit pick a few more things. And I will but I don't want to waste my summer in a rental. I plan to get the driver side back up sensor cover painted and they still need to replace the trim on the passenger window.

Agree with everyone, that is well over a grands worth of work.

I was rear ended about two months ago, nothing major but the bumper was all scratched up and had a few dings. Ended up getting $500 from the other drivers insurance.

Damage is estimated at 1600 for everything. Dropping my car off tomorrow and getting a free rental. Seems like everything's gonna work out.

Aren't you glad you didn't take the 500

i will be damned if im going to pay the price i pay for insurance, and let those turds get out of paying to have the car fixed. that what insurance is all about.

Yea deff.. It was hard to think straight after being hit. Haha, going on 7 years of driving and never been in a real accident. Had to happen to my LS :( !!

You should get an 06 bumper so if/when you do the lse front bumper upgrade you'll almot have a complete lse conversion

Their insurance company didn't really give me a choice. They could have given me a check for 1600 but I wasn't sure what to do say in case they found additional damage. If they do the shop is dealing directly with their insurance. I'm honestly just happy to that they're putting OEM replacements. I had this nasty crack on my bumper to begin with. It looks like the car was hit and they did shoddy bondo work to fix it. It was really the only glaring cosmetic problem I had when I bought the car. Sooo glad it's going to be fixed because I was in the middle of thinking about/pricing a new bumper. They gave me a brand new Impala with the 3500 with 900 miles on the odometer for a rental. Once I got in it really reminded me how nice and swift our cars are.

BTW Alax I'm really feeling that lip spoiler on your car.

Cool. Yeah that lip spoiler completes the front end

Just did a rear bumper cover, From FORD OEM, and paint for $660. I had some time to check around and feel this is without a doubt the cheapest that I could change out my car. I did all the changing out of the cover.

Now that being said, I would never accept cash from a crash. I am just looking at that pic and have no idea what else could be wrong. So, by all means go with insurance.

Just wanted to give an update. They had my car for about a week. In the mean time I got to drive a 3.5 Chevy Impala (a 2011 with 900 miles) rental for free. Gotta say when I hit that petal I felt a world of difference, also the difference between RWD and FWD. Anyways, I got my car fixed. It looks perfect. The ride in the impala was deffinately smoother but more floaty with less feedback in the steering wheel. I'll try to get some pics up of my car soon. The best camera I have is the webcam one on my Macbook.

The Military Gave me an Impala for a rental while I went to school and I hated it, I thought it was terrible so I traded it in for a Charger, a little bit better but nothing beats the ride of the LS. Especially here in Germany where I do 100+ on the autobahn on a regular.
