Just installed the CDC grill. Check it out

Where could you find that type of mesh. So how is the mclaren grill set up? is everything one piece?

The McLaren is 1 piece, its plastic cast in a mold I think.

Im trying to think of a members name that had posted a link to a site that had all kinds of mesh in some thick gauges to do custom grilles. I just cant remember his name. He had a gold LS.

I cant name any other places off the top of my head but I saw mesh that thick plenty of times also.

Dont get me wrong, what ever you do is up to you and I still congratulate you on such a sought after purchase.

Remember, that's more of a weave than a mesh. Like you, I've seen mesh a lot; mostly on ebay.

I know, Im saying what I saw was like that.

I personally like the flat honey comb mesh like the McLaren but I dont like it on the LS.

I dig it, looks great! I agree, paint the trimto match and make the mesh bare and it will have a nice finnished look.

I have that same grille, I bought the last full LSE kit CDC ever sold back in Summer 07. My LS still needs a few more things done to it before the kit gets the install with paint, but you can see the grille in my avatar. I have that one and a black McLaren.

The trim is black right? Did strip the paint off the center too or leave it?

So you have the bottom mesh piece for an lse fascia too?

I love that style of grill! I'm I to understand that it's no longer offered and that if I see one for sale on ebay or where ever to get it ASAP? That grill would look perfect on my LS once it's complete!

Well thats what I did. I jumped on it as soon as I saw it.You can try making your own.

I blackened out the center piece behind the mesh because it was clearly visible through it. Go into my photo gallery to see one from the side and a blow up of that one. The CDC is off my car at the moment because I stripped the black paint for prep (it hasn't been seriously driven since January.) I'm going to color match it to my LS when I get it done. To answer your other question, I have the entire kit which consists of the lower mesh, the front LSE bumper with lights, the side skirts, the rear valance with tips, and the LSE floor mats.

Wow. you're packin the mods, nice. You have the gen 1 ls. I have gen 2. I guess this kit was made for gen 1 lse and someone said that gen 2 lse front fascia were different than gen 1 so it might not fit if i get the lse fascia and try installing the mesh on it.
