So I got a ride home from a co-worker the other day. he just bought a used F150 with a gibson exhaust. I knew it had a 4.6 in it, but not wanting to ride home in silence, I asked him if it had the 4.6 or the 5.4. He says to me 4.6, a 289. I reply actually a 4.6 is a 281. This is the point where I bit off more than I could chew. He says and I quote "Nah its a 289, its been raced up." I had to ride with him 10 more minutes before I could go inside my house and laugh my ass off.

its been raced up ???? lmfao i race my engine up all the time the cubic inch hasnt changed yet though. i wonder if he thinks the exhaust increased the cubic inch lol.

well i was talking to a kid who was dead set that his 93 was the only year that has a cobra engine. lmao i told him that every year has the "cobra engine" and that the cobra actually has the mark engine. not the other way around. he kept going and going about how i was wrong. so i just laughed and said yep your right, and walked away. some people are just too stupid to converse with.

I think people in general are fukin morons,

1st customer came in my shop today, said problem was spongy brake pedal, so I pull rear tires off, pop the drums, both wheel cylinders have dumped...he then asked that I put it back together so he could go get a second opinion,
2nd customer, grinding brakes in front, I took wheels off, removed front brakes first then got to the rear..once drums were off, saw left rear wheel cylinder on this car was also dumping brake fluid,
this customer decided to NOT replace the LEAKING cylinders but wanted to rebuild the calipers instead....ALRigHty ...one car not fixed for $400 comin right up SIR!!!

I especially like all the other (non-Mark8) Lincoln owners I know, that insist their car has the same motor as mine...rofl

then I got a call yesterday from a friend saying someone in a Ford Focus has copied the CobraStar from my back window, only they placed it on the hood...I can't wait to see this car

Well, you are right that his 93 is not the only year for the cobra engine. But, you forgot that the 93,94,95 Cobras have the venerable 5.0 liter small block ford. 96 and up have the 4.6 liter DOHC engine. So, not all Cobras have the mark engine. :)

Speaking of cobra and mark motors. When I built my 04 Mach 1 I took the original engine out and had a mark block bored .60 over and added a vortec supercharger. I promptly showed it to my uncle who had a 03 cobra at the time. I told him what I did and he says to me, "You put a lincoln motor in your car-What are you stupid." Then I blew his doors off while spinning my tires through 3 gears.

It's been raced up! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That guy sure drank his cup of fail this morning ;)
Wtf is wrong with people? He must hang out with that guy that drives the Mustang GTR with the turbo rotary engine that has pistons. HAHAHAHAHA

YouTube- MUSTANG GTR

This is one of the many benefits of having a smart phone. Whenever anyone tries to tell you some stupid bs all you have to do is google it and it usually shuts them up pretty quickly.

I once met a kid that had a Trans-Am. He told me it was turbocharged. I was like "wow, I gotta see the motor". Anyway he popped the hood and everything was stock. I was like, "umm hate to break it to you but there is no turbo here". He seemed confused and then confessed the car seemed fast to him so he just assumed it had a turbo. Non-car people have no clue about what they are talking about. People get stuff in their heads I dunno from where and believe it without actually knowing for themsleves.

In your case Ford made a 289 for a long time so maybe the dude assumed it was still the same motor after all these years. When you call them out on something they just assume some people will try to save face by saying dumb stuff like "raced up" or what not. The 289 actually displaces 4.7L anyway.

My favorites are the ones that don't know if it's a 4 or 6 cylinder..and those that find out it's a 4 cylinder and then call it a v4
other favorites are watching people at gas stations have to get back in their car to turn it around because they didn't know which side the fuel door is on..
The list of "dumb ass events" could go on and on

Tell him that Lincoln block can handle almost double the power his cast block can and do it while shaving off 80lbs of dead weight. :)

Teksid is Fords greatest block ever. IMHO its prolly the strongest factory small block EVER made. :wrench

Im an S.T.S. driver down here in Miami (special transportation service) for those who dont know what sts means. So I pick up a customer and we start talking about cars and he tells me that he has a 95 Town Car so I tell him that I own an 02 Lincoln LS and a MarkVIII 2. So he tells me "did you know that the first Lincoln was built for Henry Ford in the year 1900 and it was a Town Car". So I immediatly start laughing at him...lol!!!! I took out my Blackberry smart phone and shut him up completely.....this guy didnt say another word until I got him home....LMFAO!!!!

He bought it from a stealership next door to us and they feed him a bull:q:q:q:q sandwich about the truck and what had been done to it

The same place tried to rob me. I parked my Mach 1 out back with a for sale sign and the owner came in saying that they would put the car on the internet and their lot and only charge me $3000. They were gonna list it at $17500, with 15000 miles. I sold it on my own in a week for $30000 and I keep the original motor, wheels, MAF, injectors, floor mats and a slew of other stuff.

Could you post a pic of the guy that bought your Mach1, I would like to add it to my "dumb ass" list

Guilty as charged! Mark is the only vehicle I`ve owned with a freaking right side fuel fill. Sometimes I forget.
