Key getting hot in my 1995 Lincoln mark viii

Key getting hot in my Lincoln mark viii what can it be

A little more details, how hot? How long has it been happening? How long does it take to get hot? Is the rest of your steering column hot as well? In the meantime, please be careful. You might have a hot wire somewhere. Either way, something's not right.

Yeah, didn't realize the key getting hot till I was driving from Winton Salem nc to Cincinnati Ohio, for thanksgiving. It was about an hour or two when I felt the key and it seemed to have a ridiculous warmth to it . On the way back .I held a damp cloth with ice cubes on it and it helped.its a 95 markviii with other issues. I can't get any turn signals or back up lamps and the #10 Fuze keeps blowing and I changed the multi function switch in the column and the flasher relay under the dash and help. And I am having the same heating issues as the other guys I have been reading about. So had

So I had to run my heater on full blast to help keep motor temp down and was wondering if that was making the key hot . I changed water pump and thermostat and I noticed a very small leak around the drain plug area . Just can't pin point it just yet . I know it's a sealed system and can be the reason . And the fan is working but it never runs when key is off . Is that normal ? I love my car so I hope I can get help from you guys . Thanks a million.

Willing to bet you didn't get the air out of the system.

I have a small leak that only shows up when I park car and it sits awhile on pass side of radiator down by drain plug area . Is there a over flow on that side ? Or do do the plug go bad ? I won't be able to get all the air out as long as I have a leak . I get the car hot and look with a light but can't see a leak . I think the car is messing with me . So if anyone out there my be had this same problem with there mark 8 please give me some feedback . Thanks , RICHARD
