I have a 2002 LS. And the keyless entry only works for 20 after you are away from car. Then after that no buttons on remote will work and when I unlock car with key alarm goes off. But if I open trunk with key it allows my remote to work. And I can unlock with remote then gain access without alarm going off then. I've unhooked battery for 30 mins no fix. Please help

maybe a bad DDM??? (Drivers Door Module)

a key used in the drivers door should signal the DDM to disarm the OEM alarm as it unlocks the door.

I would take it apart and make sure that there is not a seperate problem with the key cylinder and that the DDM is getting the signal when the key is being turned.

what happens if you turn and hold the key in the unlock position for a few seconds?

I am also under the assumption that you are using OEM key fobs and its the OEM alarm that is going off...

Failing battery in remote? What kind of range does the remote have? Gradually decreasing range is a sign of a failing/weak battery.

Ya if I hold it unlock it doesnt roll all windows down like it use to or unlock all doors and if I put a 03 up ddm on it will it work and can I do the key off 8 times to program my key fobs

I suspect a bad battery. Like all batteries, they do die......

An '03 won't work in an '02. Auto-up is more than the DDM.......

Also, a gen II DDM won't talk to your gen I REM. At best you could possibly make it work for the driver's door lock only. You'd also loose control of the passenger windows and locks from the driver's door. Seat/mirror memory functions would also be impacted. The auto up features also require the smart motors from the gen II, and I'm sure they only work with the gen II regulators. Wiring would have to change too.

I do think that it may be that your DDM is bad, or the constant power circuit to it has failed or is miss-wired. Has it always been this way since you have owned the car? Do you have remote start or aftermarket alarm?

No it started after I wired a system in car I removed it no change does anyone have wireing diagrams for the ddm and where is it at

I'd say that means it is very likely to be a wiring problem and not the module.

The driver's door module is in ... the driver's door.
I have (non-factory) wiring diagrams, but it's a 7M file.

Do you know what pin going to ddm is constant power and witch one is ground

The non-oem diagrams aren't as clear as the factory ones.
I think that pin 12 (orange/blue) is constant power, and pins 7 (brown/blue), 8 (black/orange), and 3 (black) are grounds.

I have this same exact problem if anyone is familiar with this and could better explain in detail how to fix the issue I'd greatly appreciate it.
