Kinnetik battery question?

I have a kinetik hc1400
But wanna upgrade to the kinetik hc2400
I have a guy that wants to sell me his new but opened
Battery for 250
How can I tell if he did use it?
If it is used is it a badd thing? It's kinnetik

Have it tested at an auto parts store...or maybe a car audio shop since it's a special battery.
