Hello,

I have been a long time visitor of this web page but decided to register and say hello, finally. I have a 2003 Lincoln LS V8 in Ivory Parchment. I bought the car used in February 2010 with 53000 miles on it and it currently has 120,000 on it now. It has been my daily driver since the day I bought it and besides the regular issues everyone else seems to have, I have never been stranded or stuck in it (knocks on wood). I have replaced (with your help!) the coils, plugs, valve cover gaskets, catalytic converters, coolant reservoir bottle, thermostat and thermostat housing, fixed the drain tubes (2x's - should've learned my lesson the first time and done them all), the brakes, rotors... and I think that might be all. The car is pretty much stock with the exception of tinted windows, removed the word Lincoln from the trunk (felt it was redundant) and the replacement catalytic converters are Magnaflow (cheaper than OEM). I don't think I've done anything else, although I might be forgetting some items. I do my own oil changes with Mobil 1 oil/filter and installed the oil release that someone had mentioned on here a while ago. I forget the name. Fumioto? Something like that, makes it easier and cleaner as oil doesn't go splashing around.

A bit about me: I'm from New York City, bachelor, working a 9-5 (I wish, more like 8-7) as a Maintenance Engineer in New Jersey, and my prior vehicles owned are (in descending order) Lincoln Town Car, Cadillac Deville, Dodge Neon SRT-4, Pontiac Grand Am, Firebird, Impala, etc. Currently I own the Lincoln LS and my Bike it's a 2009 Suzuki Boulevard 650CC with only 400 or so miles on it. Since I live in NYC, there are not many opportunities or roads to ride a bike comfortably or safely, but it's something I've always wanted. I don't have any pics to share right now as I'm on the work computer.

Currently the LS is driving perfectly, I have no issues to report other than small nuances such as when I turn on my car the climate control is always on AUTO and it can be 5 degrees or 90 degrees outside and the A/C button is always lit until I press it off. Probably normal. Everything works as it should or at least as it did the day I bought it.

Thanks G-Rell. No plans other than to fix the small chip in my windshield and to repair a bent rim. Gotta love driving around New York City in the winter!

I've always like the vent guards for the windows so maybe I'll get those so I can keep the windows open in the rain. I'm a big fan of fresh air and hate using the A/C or heat unless I have to. I just laughed loudly at my desk realizing how ridiculous it sounds to think that "fresh air" exists in New York City!

WELCOME.... :W :W :W

Yes, that is normal. The compressor stays on to keep the windows defogged.
