Lambo Doors?

i just want a nice suicide door set...not lambo, just regular suicide. that would be sleek.

I've checked on the lambo doors locally and the guy i talked to said there are two kinds of kits for the M8. One good and one bad. Go with the good one. Also, remember you are changing the set up on how the door is opening. When you do this and install lambo doors, you have to readjust the alignment of the doors about every 25 times you open them. To adjust them, you have to remove the front fenders from the car. Ask yourself, is it worth it?

I am contemplating on adding some Lambo doors to my Mark VIII. It will be a complete show car in about a year, give or take a month or two.

any thoughts on this?

do it ! i have been dying to do that it has been on the list of things to do but motor comes first :)

Personally I dont like suicide or lambo doors. Looks way too flashy/ricerish for my taste.

Agreed. There are things you can do to your car that are far more useful, and far less gay.

The 60's continental had suicide doors, FACTORY.

One of the pimpest cars built, hows that flashy, hows that ricerish? :eyeroll:

That was also a functional decision. The car, designed as a convertible, did not have the structure in the B-pillar to support the heavy doors.

It was also the last 4 door convertible (phaeton) to be mass produced.

As my name on this site might imply, I own a 67 continental and have a 66 continental parts car as well. Sedans, not convertibles.

Yeah, I know that it came with suicides from the factory. Let me rephrase.... They look ricer on newer cars. Although, some custom roadsters look good with suicides.

I traded one of my Mark VIII's for one. I just haven't found the time to go to Chicago and pick it up from my friend.

A 4 door convertible is a thing of beauty.

There are no websites to purchase lambo door ktis for a mark viii, its gotta be dont custom, You can buy universal bolt on lambo door kits but there ugly.

you will lose all respect if u put lambo doors on ur mark viii, espeacially in this crowd, if ya wanna put lambo doors on a lincoln go join those LS people.

In other news, stop pullin up posts that are 2 years old

Honestly, if it weren't for the maintenance/reliability issues mentioned earlier in this thread, I'd go for the doors if I had the money. It's a very unique (and killer) look for the car, and would make getting in and out of the car - as well as accessing the interior in general - a LOT easier, especially in close quarters. The only other disadvantage one might be concerned of is opening our BIG doors that way in a low-ceiling parking garage. Then again, I don't use those that often myself, so I wouldn't be too much worried about it.

Hmmm...

You guys must not have any experience with lambo door kitted cars huh?

They suck.. .period. They look cool but thats about it

They are flimsy, they never line up right, you have to be gentle with them...

and they are a PAIN to get in and out of!

Yeah they have the wow factor.... but the mark VIII doors are heavy and you would need some mean assisted actuators to get them to work right

I don't know, if the car wasn't a daily it might be worth it but I would NOT want to live with those every day!

No please dont send him over to us. We have enough of those stupid lopsided things over here as it is.

Now if you want those doors sell the car and get a small little sporty coupe, like the ones girls drive you know the Del Sol's and the Miata's.

I was going to put lambo doors on my Del Sol... but then I pulled my head out of my ass and realized what I was doing and promtly sold the car.

My Mark VIII is getting suicide doors when I repaint it. It is also shave door handles, so I can kiss broken door handles goodbye.

I am still up in the air about it...

I would have to see some WAY improved kits to make me bite

The ones I have come in contact with piss me off!
