Leaky rearview

I know other have had auto dimming mirrors go bad but has anyone had the liquid crystal media actually leak out. Craziest thing I have seen in awhile. This damn car is starting to cost a fortune lately.

I've heard of it pooling in the bottom of the mirror, but I've not previously heard of it actually leaking out of the assembly. Weird...

mine leaked out onto the console. Nasty! i had to replace it

It just happened to me, same year car. Thats some nasty stuff. doesnt clean up real easy.

Yeah, those liquid crystals are a real pain to clean up.

My 06 had a leak on the mirror when I picked it up. I knew the liquid crystal was tweaked somehow, so I told my service advisor "My mirror is leaking!". He looked at me like I was from Mars, but I got it fixed. Under warranty of course.

Yes it ruined my shift selector that cost me 54.95 from lincoln and a 200 rearview mirror.

Its totally variable, if it happens at all.

Replace it before it damages your console. Get ready to spend roughly a hundred bucks.
