Hey guys, I took a video of my all LED setup on the LS tonight. Follow the link to get to good quality, didn't want to embed with the low quality and have all that other garbage that this forum messes with when it comes to YT links.

Turn LED's look great. Did you change the wiring on the rings for them not to light up with the emergency lights on?
 
Emergency lights-the hazard lights, press the button on top of the stering column and all 4 turn bulbs flash at the same time.lol




I've been debating on what to do with matching with the rings. The rings are 6k hid color. I like how clean the 5k crisp white looks so I bought 5k fogs and will soon get 5k low beam bulbs. You think it would look better to get 6k fogs to match rings and have the fogs not match with the low beams, or go 5k fogs and low beam bulbs? I dont really want blue in my low beams so I dont want to get 6k low beam bulbs so I think thats out as an option
 
Oh. Yea with the LED signals, the rings no longer flash with the parking lamps off.

This also stopped them from flashing on lock/unlock. Just the signals flash like originally.


And i had 5k in the fogs. It matched the oem lows. But then the rings looked awkward. Especially with me driving with just rings on. I now pretty much always roll with rings plus fogs on because they look great no matter the time of day. And the 6k fogs match the same LED as the rings.
 
Looks sweet. For the reverse lights did you order just the standard 3157's or did you get the V-LED 5K HID bulbs?
 
Are your front turn signal bulbs switchbacks?
 
Looks great, and good video. I like how you can really see how bright those LEDs are from all angles instead of just straight on.
 
bullschmidt, they are just LED bulbs, not an HID. They are very bright. Also expensive.

m4rk, no they're just regular amber flashers. The switchbacks are a solid white color when not in use, then flash to amber while the signal is activated - then returns to white.

owlman, thanks, yes the output from these are really nice - on camera it doesn't really show the brightness difference that well.

Yep, I just wanted to know if you got the switchbacks, hence why they didn't work as parking lamps.
 
Are all the bulb out messages gone now with the use of the resistors?

Also could you compile a list of what bulbs you used? It would be helpful for those unsure of what bulbs to use, especially if you used any cross reference sockets. For instance, the turn signal bulbs are a 3457A but VLED does not sell that particular bulb but they do sell the 3157 that cross references the same.

I like how the LED turns signal flash almost instantly as apposed to incandecent, but I dont know if I want to loose my angel eyes flashing everytime the turn signals do.
 
Yes fogs are from VLEDs.... Actually all of them are from there.

Yea, Alax I was kind of dissapointed that stopped, but I decided I am okay with that really. Plus I didn't really like the way they flashed with the signal if I had the parking lights off. I do miss the unlock/lock though. Oh well ! :D

Mr STL, if I ever sell it I will keep your offer in mind, tis tempting.

Drizz, the light output those LEDs give out don't seem too bad compared to the stock bulbs. I would rock 'em. (i figured i would post a reply in here, i didn't want to reroute M4rk's progress thread).
BTW, your car just keeps climbing the charts man. Gotta come up with a nickname for it.....hhhmmmm....I am calling it the Cosa Nostra from now on. It is one of my fav's on here, afterall.
 
Yea I guess they aren't terrible, but I guess I meant for functionality as fogs, they are pretty useless. But they look dam good!


And are you somehow referring to my car as a mafia-mobile? haha

I had a guy tell me once my car was so scary looking that people don't wanna pull up to me @ stoplights because they're afraid it's gunna be full of black dudes with AK47s. I lol'd.

Exactly what I was reffering to. The whole black them you have going is a killer. Very tastefully done too.

Drizz, you don't drive around playing Rick Ross right? I mean, all blacked out LS, some hardcore gangsta tunes, that would do it. "I think I am big meech, larry hoover......" ;)lol

I know you gave us a reference of the LED's you used. But which LED's did you use for your back-up lights. My tint is rather dark also and that seems to be a very good remedy for backing up. Thanks bro.
