LED Conversion Video Walk-Around

Andrizzle,
I know you gave us a reference of the LED's you used. But which LED's did you use for your back-up lights. My tint is rather dark also and that seems to be a very good remedy for backing up. Thanks bro.

Could be wrong but I believe he mentioned he doesn't have those yet.

I have these and they are great

I forgot about this thread... lol

But yea those are the same ones I have, the ones bullschmidt posted. I remember paying 60 for them though, they look to be on sale. Good buy.

hey andrizzle, what led fogs did you buy? i feel like just getting those instead of the ones from ddmtuning.com for my lse conversion

I just got the 5K fogs from vleds installed to match my 4300K hid.

Theyre a nice white color but not very bright at all. Oh well lol.

But also the lens of my fogs are hazed so that has some to do with it.

they arent meant to be bright, plus i get flashed enough as it is and dont need to add to it lol

Hi.... Do you guys not read the thread, I put the list of all the bulbs in here!

Anyways yea I like them alot, they have basically no output, but who cares about fogs lol. They look damn good!

Looks sweet. For the reverse lights did you order just the standard 3157's or did you get the V-LED 5K HID bulbs?

i got the 3157s in mine 6000k there bright but i want brighter i think im gonna put the hid kit for my reverse lights in lol

Ehh I dunno about that. HIDs are beyond any shadow of doubt not at all suited for all applications, nor for lights that will only be on for short periods (Turning HID bulbs on and off again quickly will shorten life span) Your HIDs wont even be warm before you're done reversing.

They would be hella bright though

He posted something about it before.. You would have to make some kind of circuit that would time delay them so when going from P-D, they won't get current and burn the bulb out.. I posted a link but there is a hella lot of crap that you would need to make that kind of circuit.. Unless there is some small unit out there that idk about..

is the plate bulb size correct? i see on sylvanias site it says 2825 which is the same as 194 or 168.

Actually they don't sell the original license plate lights I had in there from the beginning anymore.

One of mine died and I looked for a replacement and could not find them.

So I bought these and they fit better, and appear alot more durable:

2 HID 6K WHITE HIGH POWER LICENSE PLATE MAP PARKING LED BULBS 194 168 158

I think they sell time delay relays. This sounds like one

Hey andrizzle. Does putting red LED's make the tail lights brighter? As oppose to just white ones. I always thought that the stock look of the tail lights wasn't bright at all compared to other cars & That has always bothered me the way the light output was so low on them.

Red lights crosses through the red plastic more than white light does. The red will filter out other light more than red so it's best to go with the color of the plastic.

The led tail light bulbs are really bright, you wont be dissapointed

Like Alax said, red passing through red is most efficient.

Also, the lights are intensely bright, I have blacked out lights and @ night my tails are a solid-crisp red like the new bmws and cadillacs with LED tails.

During the day, it is not that bright until I brake, but that is an effect of the daylight reflecting off the black paint.

Yeah, you could always make your own. I'm sure there are cheaper ones out there. I just did a quick search.

I remember posting a schematic that used like 15 worth of materials for both sides.. just a lot of mumbo jumbo to read through..

OLD THREAD BUMP.

But one of my front signals stopped working so I went to V-LEDS to order a new pair, they now have a revision of these bulbs (looks like they are moving to a more reliable build for all their bulbs, it started with fogs and now moving to others).

This is the new bulb:

But the reason I am bumping this is because these new versions actually operate as parking lamps. The ones before would be off when park lights on, these now light dimly like a parking light would. Just thought I would pass that on. I wish I could find the old version again, I prefer them not coming on with the park lights, but it's alright.

Thats a new/different/interesting design.

updated pics then sir :D
