Some cars use a can-bus to detect if the bulb is working correctly, but these are typically European. The link to the LEDs provided earlier does show can-bus bulbs as an option.
That's the only reason I mentioned it.

Only indicator our cars have is for a burnt out tail light or head light I believe, and they sell adapters to cancel warnings for other bulbs like turn signals.

Just a heads up, you'll want red LEDs when switching to LEDs for red lenses.

He might just be right about this because the ones I tried in my rear light bar were the same ones I have inside and for the tag light and they just weren't getting through the lens very well but if that same bulb was red, seems like the brightness just wouldn't be enough but without trying it, I really don't know.

That's right because most of the other colors omitted by the white are blocked by the lenses causing the pink look.
