i ran the codes on my lincoln and i need a drivers side front wheel hub. I have been looking for a replacement and i found that timken has them but they are $125. I went on ebay and it looks like you can buy them for $60-$85.. has anyone bought them from ebay? or should i spend the extra money and go with timken? or is their another brand i should be looking at

I bought both of my fronts off of ebay. The company is Detroit Axle. Lifetime warranty. I think they were 65 including shipping. Had these for about 3 months. No problems yet. Also it is most likely that your wheel speed sensor is bad, not your hubs. When you do replace one, replace the other. Problems go in twos like your headlights.

what code told you that you needed a new hub?
i forgot what code it was. im gonna check when i get home but i also had my mechanic check it and he said that it was my wheel bearing. I dont know much about wheel speed sensors, where would that be located? is that a cheep fix?

Your wheel speed sensor is in the hub assembly. It should be included with the hub assembly when u buy one. That's probably what is kicking the codes and turning lights on. The bearings are sealed on this hub assembly. Just make it easy for yourself and buy both of them. They took me about an hour to take both of them off. A few wrenches and a deepwell socket. I think it was 13mm to get the assembly off.

im getting a clicking sound coming from the front wheels but only when it rains. it stops clicking when i apply the brakes. but it only does this when it rains. what would cause this.

well i wasnt sure if there is a wire or something in the front wheel that would be getting wet and causing the clicking sound since it only does it when its raining. I have no codes or check engine lights or anything. and like i said the sound goes away when i apply the brakes. then returns when i let off the brake.

Check your caliper slides. Then check your pads. Make sure to grease the caliper pins because it may be a sign that he caliper may be sticking. I couldnt see it being an arching problem because that would throw codes all day long.
