I have 2003 Lincoln LS V6 with just over 150,000 miles. I really like this car and would like to keep it but it is driving me NUTS! Does anyone know a REAL Lincoln mechanic in the Southeast, preferably in the Charlotte, NC area? Right now it is again idling very rough when cold and intermittently misfiring or skipping. Recently I have had the throttle body replaced, all spark plugs and COPs, catalytic converters, MAF and I am sure other little things that I cant remember. You do one thing and it runs fine for a while then back to the same rough idle/misfiring thing. I am mechanically competent and if someone has simple suggestions let me know, but other wise I am looking for someone that can finally fix this car.

What brand Cop's did you use? Any check engine lights on now?

The ls V6 has a duratec engine which is very common and any reputable shop can work on it.

You would think any mechanic could fix it, but I have had two Ford dealers and two very good independent mechanics work on this car to the total of thousands of dollars in the last few years.

I'd help if I could as I'm near CLT. It sounds like you've had everything I could think of done unless the coils they used were crap or an oil leak is fouling them. I've had mine at Tindol up in Gastonia and I believe they correctly diagnosed my shift solenoid failure. I'll know more when I actually replace it. The independents in my little town south of the border want nothing to do with my car but the old barber says I can get a straight razor shave if I roll up in a Model T.

Check the electrical connectors at the fuel injectors. They are easy to damage, and it sounds like you've had a lot of work done near them.

If you tug of the wires to the injector and the connector pops off, you have a problem.
