Lincoln LS Mufflers

btw you just insulted several of the LS owners who have the 40 series mufflers... and you no longer deserve a response, unless you are adding something positive to the forum.

I can't believe I got pulled into this. Thanks for the clarity Fla02LS.

"I'll tow your car on the truck bed. :N "

Didnt really get that, but ok....

I insulted several LS owners who have that exhaust? Big deal. This isnt elementary school it is the real world. Act like an adult and grow a thicker skin. Maybe even try coming back at me with something more than, "and you no longer deserve a response, unless you are adding something positive to the forum". Hehe, it sounds like some kid sitting in the school bus telling another, "Ya cant sit here.". Dude give the adolescent statements up and step into the real world. Adults have differences of opinion. Welcome to life. lol. If you dont ever feel like being told that your wrong or hearing another opinion then I imagine that you will be single forever or not stay married that long. People will not agree, that is part of the spice of life. The context of your response would be totally justified if I had been a total a$$hat or called people names or something of the like. However, I did compare one of you guys to a mullet wearing redneck which I thought to be a totally befitting analogy.

...snip...Everyone has a personal preference and are fully entitled to that, but some mods are just plain offcolor or dont match the vehicle...snip...[/B]

But as you yourself have mentioned, those are personal choices. And whether or not they are "offcolor or don't match the vehicle" is your personal opinion of those mods. Obviously, those that do those mods happen to think they fit not only the vehicle, but their personality too. Just because you don't agree with them does it make them wrong by any means. I might suggest you just sit back, shake your head and laugh privately. Your comments criticizing their personalities, choices, even choice of cars is bound to raise the hackles on anyone's neck. How would you feel if someone made derogatory comments about your wife, kid, home, car, etc? It may be their personal opinion, but it's one that should definitely not be aired publicly. After all, It's YOUR opinion of them that counts...no one elses...and this sure as hell isn't the proper place to air them. That's not what this place is about. JMO.

Oh come on. I was giving the guys a hard time. I even said that in my previous post. No, I dont agree with what they got planned but as I said before it is their choice. I just was letting them know how allot of others will feel. As they have the right to do whatever mod they want to their LS, I have a right to voice a disagreement to that, whether they feel like hearing it or not. That is the basic principal of a forum. Adult interaction and feedback. I would say that it would do some people good to lighten up and learn to take anothers opinion with a grain of salt, even in disagreement.

No...you were letting them know how YOU feel.

And I'm not sure you have the right to insult anyone on this forum...and that is what you have done. Intentionally or not. Please take the time to read the forum rules. The basic principle (not principal) of a forum is the open exchange if thoughts and ideas. I'm not sure that degrading and insulting someone falls inside that purview.

Again, this is only my opinion. And I support your right to voice your opinions and ideas. However, those rights end when you insult and mock someone else's rights to do the same. In that case, you should keep your ideas to yourself or convey them in a more subtle manner. Make sense?

Ra..ra...ra.. are you done trolling for responses? Adults do have differences in opinions but if I recall, adults do not purposely try to insult others, compare them to rednecks (it's your opinion... and, no one cares) or tell others welcome to life and you won't stay married long. If anything, you're the adolescent with those few comments that you just made.

P.S - You are the last person that should be saying the comment...

"and you no longer deserve a response, unless you are adding something positive to the forum".

Practice what you preach.

Someone letting another person know how they feel is NO DIFFERENT then voicing an opinion. It is the same thing! I have the right to question anyones judgement and anything else I want to question as long as I stay within certain boundaries. I have kept well within those boundaries and will continue to stick by that. Take a closer look at my posts and you will realize that about the worst thing I said was a comment about comparing them to mullet wearing rednecks, which wasmore of an anology than accusing them that. It seems to me that I offended some peoples precious little feelings when it came to voicing my opinion. And now you all want to try to make it look like I am the one attacking people? Total hypocrites! I CAN and WILL voice my opinion i here and any other forum that I frequent. That is what forums are for, that is why they were created. It is called conversation. Not everyone is going to agree on things, but everyone does have the right to say what they want as long as it is within the boundaries of the rules of that forum. I totally believe that I have stuck with that and have not crossed the line so far. Take another look at yourself before you attempt to get righteous with me. I didnt try to shut anyone else down from making their points and opinions and I will not allow you to try that crap on me! Make your point and dont try to hide behind rules of which I have not broken. Good day.

I wasnt trolling at all. I voiced my opinion and when another person started thinking it was ok to get on my case about things, I reacted. I will not sit idly by and let anyone try to repress my opinion merely because they dont agree with it. I never once told anyone else to stop posting or shut up or anything like that. However, others have said that to me. Do you really think I will just stand by and take that crap? Of course not. Take a look at yourselves before you try to bash me. You will find that your guilty of doing most, if not all, of the things that you were whining at me about. I have my opinion and I have every right to post that. If I want to say that, "Putting series 40's on an LS will cheapen it to a very large degree." then I can say that. Now if someone gets on my case about why I said that, then I have every right to defend myself. Some of you really need to take a look in the mirror.

Hey genius, you DO realize that I was quoting someone else there, right?

get some force mufflers built like flows but on sale for 28 bucks if you watch the video in anything goes under downers grove meet you can hear em

Eventually I'm going w/ some 40's myself. I've heard one LS around w/ a nice loud, if you will, exhaust and it looked and sounded so good and that is what I want(since I got the car) and what I'm doing to my LS. If there was mods to go w/ it I would do it but its a Lincoln and the engine mods are limited.

If you want something for YOUR car, than do it. Its YOUR car, you are aloud to do whatever you want to YOUR car and adding an exhaust SYSTEM is not rice. More people well be all "wow, you hear that Lincoln" than the ones that well be "wow, that is rice." Only people you may piss off is the older people who drive like they can't see and other uptight people who think a car is a car and nothing else and just jealous because they do what others tell them. Who cares what everyone else thinks right?

Cant we all just get along?lol Anyway Has anyone used MAC mufflers? Here comes another opinoin but I like the sound of MAC over Flows of any series

I can visualize the LS pulling a big singlewide, sounding like a laboring tractor with a bad exhaust leak! LOL

The combination of Magnaflows and an open intake really changed the sound of my car. It makes it sound pretty mean but not obnoxious. It is pretty tame at idle but gets loud when you step on it. I left in the resonators so there is no drone at hwy speed.

Definitely does not sound like a stang or a fart can. It has it's own "muscular" sound...

I dont have any experience with the Magnaflows your talking about, but as long as it has a nice ballsy yet tuned sound then I am in total agreement with it. It sounds like your exhaust setup might be something along the lines of which I will go for. Isnt too noticeable at a stop light or when I dont want it to be, but when I get on it I can notice some rumble under the hood.

BTW - With all the dsagreement going on in here it is best for us all to just agree to disagree. By arguing we accomplish nothing more than getting on each others nerves. I truly didnt aim to hurt anyones feelings, I just wanted to get my point across and give a few people a hard time (read....joking around)... Lets all calm down, shall we? Woooooosaaaaa....wooosaaaaa....

Now THAT I REALLY have an opinion on! Are you ready for it?

I wouldn't give Mac a single red cent for any product they sell. In my opinion, they are the worst manufactured, cheapest built, worst customer service I have ever seen. I bought a CAI and set of headers for my old '89 5.0 car. The CAI wouldn't even come close to fitting right. The headers were ALREADY starting to rust...and they hadn't even been taken out of the box! And this was with their "coating" on them. I tried to send them back. They wouldn't take them saying that was nothing more than surface rust and was normal. Right. I sold them and bought a set of Bassani's that looked like new 2 years after I installed them. The CAI? I finally massaged it to fit because that too they wouldn't take back. MAC told me a little "fitment" work was normal! How hard can it be to make a damn tube and plate fit for cryin' out loud?? Anyway, after using it for a couple of months, I had to remove it for some work on the car. When I looked inside the metal tube, it was so full of rust it was flaking off...and going through my engine. I tossed it.

So that is my story with them...and I have no problem sharing with anyone who wants to listen. Oh...by the way...their underdrive pulleys are a joke too. I saw a brand new set on a car that actually wobbled!!!

Not that I have allot of experience with them, but I bought a CAI from them for my other vehicle and it works, looks, and fits great! I only have about 3 differerent CAI options and the MAC unit was not only the least expensive but it also produced the same power and looked a heck of allot better with the chrome tube versus a plastic one like the others. I havent had a chance to test any of their exhausts but I did hear that they kind of sucked.

I had MAC on my 86 and 95 mustang GT 3in. catback and 2.5 prochamber. The sound was awesome it didnt sound like the mustang with flows it was much more deep. I didnt buy the headers I used the BBK jethot coated shorties. From my experience I thought mac was a great product with a great sound second only to Borla

:I (2001ls8sport)yeh dude, "wouldn't be my choice" would suffice, would'nt it?? it takes all kinds to make it great!! personally i was curious about the magnaflow exhaust, want to know how loud and what mileage improvement?? saw another thread a while back (before hacker) where a member was waiting/installed a kit recently and i was curious?? i just installed the magnaflow kit on a 05'magnum hemi and it was nice and mellow, customer was actually upset that it wasn't louder!! and he was like 56 years old.. i liked it....lol

LS Mufflers

All I asked was a simple question about mufflers. I never thought this form would go this long. I don’t care what people run on their LS. It’s your car run what ever you like. I never asked the questing (If I should run flowmaters on my LS?) The question I asked was about back pressure which one person answered. Instead I was insulted and referred to as a redneck. I know enough about motors to gather that you will not receiver a huge increase in HP from mufflers. I was looking for more sound than anything. I think the point was lost because some of you gave your opinion on what should fit the LS décor instead of answering the question. The form was created for info regarding back pressure. Not the décor of an LS.

How about one side of the exhaust a straight pipe and the other side Flowmaster 40? That would cool sounding!
