Hi all,
New to the forums here. I just purchased a 2000 Lincoln LS with 106k miles. I did a carfax and it looks like it has been very well maintained. It is in good shape for the most part and I knew going in that I was going to have to put some money into it being 12 years old. It drives great, but so far I have experienced some issues which seem to come up frequently with LS owners.
I have the issue of lack of heat when the car is in idle or low rpm. At first I thought it was just a dccv issue, but today it overheated while idle and I wonder if it's something more. Without a dealer nearby, I wonder if this is something that a local mechanic will be able to fix. There are a few good ones in the area, I just want to know if this is a fixable problem or if I have to get it to a dealer. I only get significant heat when the car is on main roads or on the freeway, so I have a feeling that the idle overheating and idle heat output are related. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Brian
