Ok, so i finallly got my 2000 lincoln ls/v8 up and running again. I had to change out the fuel pump, water pump and thermostat. So once i got that all put in, i turned on the a/c and nothing but hot air would come out the vents. I let it run for a good 20 minutes and drove arond for a while and it did not over heat which was a good thing, but now that summer is here i got not A/C. The car had been sitting for a while. So do i need to ass freeon, and if so, where do i add it at because i can not seem to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Your DCCV may be failed. Let the car cool down over night. Start it up and put the AC on maximum. If you get cold air for the first minute or so (till the engine starts warming up), then the DCCV is the problem.

This car doesn't take R-12 (Freon), it takes R-134a (Suva). The AC low side port has to be accessed from under the car. You have to remove a shield to get to it. You really need to use a double gauge set (low and high side pressures) and compare it to the pressure temperature chart to correctly charge this system with a variable scroll compressor and thermal expansion valve.

wow, now not only is it too hard to search for any information needed, but looking at the three other threads of climate control issues right on just the first page is now too much. lord help us.

my air was cold when my car was in park but hot when driving. i put freon in and it never went past 35 psi on the first can but the air got colder. we put another can of freon in and now the air is hot. what happened?
