Hello from over the pond,
I bought a v6 manual Jag s-type a few months ago as autos make me want to kms. Loving the car other than its inability to do a proper burnout. After doing a bit of digging I have seen a lot of info regarding LSDs for both the early and late models of the v8 version but am unsure if I have seen any pertaining to the v6, specifically the manual, which strikes me as odd as surely the manual version of the car would be the one you'd want to lock wheels on. Either way, any info would be greatly appreciated in return for spilling all our tea back in Boston ;)

What year is your Jag? If it is a 1998-2002, you can swap your rear differential out for a 28-spline 8.8 from a 1989-96 Thunderbird/Cougar, 93-98 Lincoln Mark VIII, or 1999 Mustang SVT Cobra. The SVT Cobra has LSD already; the others do not, except for an 89 - 96 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe or Cougar XR7. You will have to make a front mounting perch and get a custom driveshaft.

If you have a 2003 and newer, you need to get the CV axles from the earlier model as well.

Also, your rear-end gears are probably 3.07:1 or thereabouts. There wasn't an easy 1:1 swap with the same gears in any of those cars. Some of the Mark VIIIs had 3.08:1s, but they weren't LSD, so you could get one and add the LSD later.

Other more expensive options are available, but they are few and far between, as the car is getting old and the community of builders is dwindling.
