LMS mufflers

How long does it take for them to get louder.....I have had them on for a couple thousand miles, and they are way to quiet for my liking. I love the tone, but would like for them to be louder.
 
Someone explain how a muffler could possibly get louder over time?
 
mufflers with fiberglass packing will break down in time , bur i dont think lms mufflers are packed with fiberglass, if you have them on a stock system they will be quiet
 
I seriously don't know WHY anyone would even have mufflers on a Mark 8 AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I removed them on my 93 and 96 LSC, and it's loud when you get on it and sounds AWESOME but is not overly loud. Even driving side by side with Police Officers i NEVER got a ticket.

CUT EM OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
... I just got an inspection ticket on my beater cause it was too loud... with no mufflers... which was a bs reason to pull me over... he just knew my inspection was out by driving by it when it was parked on the street.

it took about 3 months for mine to burn out
 
I have the double x also from LMS.....I dont know if it makes a difference, but I bought the exhaust from Geno 3-4 yrs ago.....they are the oval tipped muffler.
 
I've had my LMS system installed for over 2 years now, they still sound great, and loud enough that they will not pass inspection but i get the sticker taken care of anyways, i have my 3rd cat removed and have the double x setup in place , Still happy with the System all this time.. maybe at some point will get headers but not anytime soon,, so those of you that think the LMS exhaust is not good, well I guess you just suck then lol later..

they sound baffed out with no mufflers

So you have a double-X, no resonator and LMS mufflers and it's not loud enough? I had that on my car and it's plenty loud enough for most. Maybe I'm getting old?

As most said above, run with no mufflers and it will be plenty loud...........with plenty of drone too.

If the drone gets to be too much without mufflers, get some 14-inch magnaflow 4-inch round mufflers that are 2.5 in/out. I ran them on my old Mark VIII towards the end of it's life. These mufflers are louder than LMS mufflers but they come with more drone too.
