Loud fan

Hello all, I have a 04 lincoln ls v8 for the last 3 weeks ive heard the fan turnning on being very loud off and on but i can hear with windows up , also i had the THX cd layer went out ive replace with after market anyone having audio issues ?

Your cooling system is starting to fail. It most likely has trapped air in it due to cracks in the plastic cooling system parts. Prime suspects are the degas bottle and the thermostat housing.

Please read the stickies and do a search (use Google advanced site search, the built in search here is awful). Your complaint and this subject has been covered at least a hundred times here.

I had the THX nav option, but the CD changer in it stopped working. I replaced it with aftermarket. Has anyone else had this problem?

b) Hello all, I had an 04 Lincoln LS, V8, for the last three weeks. I've heard the fan be very loud when it turns on. It is also loud when it is off. I can hear when the windows are up. (I leave it to you to guess if I am able to hear with the windows down.) I had the factory nav option, but it left me. It was laying out CDs as it went. Then, I was replaced by anyone aftermarket. Is anyone having audio issues with their aftermarket system that replaced factory nav?

LMAO.....AAHHHH, there's a problem with you car!!!!.much better...agreed you cooling system sounds like it's starting to go. Keep your eye on temp, fluid levels and leaks... If it is just your cooling fan system... the 1st gen hydraulic system can be swapped with an electric one (look for hite337's write up). not sure for a second gen though....

Yes the ford changers do go out... you can either swap with an aftermarket (like you did...i think :shifty: ), or send the factory out for service... Usually last for a while after that...

Hey sorry about , i meant the fan goes on and off when car has been on for about 10min or so , not when the car is off . But the fan is loud

Hi , yeah the thermostat went out on me while on road, i guess there was so much pressure one of the hoses came off the housing i replaced the housing this was on the 1-18-12 . bur as far as the fan being loud its been doing that for weeks . hope that makes sense i see someone has made fun of my typing
