what is the best lowering kit to get for the lincoln? is strutmaster the best?what do i need for a full conversion kit nd how much
 
ray's lowering kit, sensor mod, or module 8 are the best lowering kits for the mark :)

It seems as if he means a spring conversion lowering kit.
 
The price of the kits range from 400-700 depending on where you buy them and what brand. Ive heard good things about strutmaster's kits. I know there are quite a few people on here that have converted..... Maybe some of them will help you more than I can...

ok this is another one I can help you decide with strutmaster. it lowers your car a little over 2 inches, and if you know what to unbolt and you have two people its do-able in about 2 hours (how long it took me and my buddy) the fastest way to do it is by cutting the air line to release the pressure or stabbing the actual bag (what I did) you pretty much just take the bags off and bolt the lowering kit right up, also if I was you I would remove the ride height sensors, very easy to do, they have ball joints they connect to, 1 on top and 1 on the bottom, than cut the wires, you will not need the ride height sensors when u convert to non-air, If you want to see how low your car will be I have a link on my forum that says "the new guy" thats how low your car will be. I still have to change the rear back gas shocks now, and on supercoupeperformance.com they recommend this other thing I havent done in the rear to switch a link on the sway bar, not a must. If you live in a mountainous terrain I would not recomend this, I live in new mexico now and it is a hassle sometimes, any questions at all send me a private message and I will be glad to help.
P.S. the cheapest u wiil find strut master lowering kits is ebay, look up mark viii suspension, than call to order.
 
Why would you stab the bags and cut the wires? why not jack the car up, then turn the air ride switch off, when you lower it back down the car will be on the ground. or just snap off the air line connector? just unplug the wire connector? That way you will still have the parts and you can go back to air in the future if you want.

To lower the front, on the sensor, loosen the ball stud nut and slide the ball stud so the sensor is compressed. NOTE: After you have it where you want it, DO NOT overtighten the ball stud! They make the ball stud out of some crappy pot metal or something, so the torque on that sucker is like 10 foot pounds or so! Just snug it up.

because like I said I did it in under 2 hours for all 4, it was getting dark out, and I knew I was just getting rid of that old $hit, if he wants to know I will let him know the correct way as well, to much to type yesterday though:cool:
 
strutmasters is what i got....although through the streets of chicago, its a little rough and i bottom out every now and then. i have to take small inclines at an angle. but highway driving is beautiful! i had mine swapped out in about 3 hours, i cut the bags and wires and went from there (did it at home in my garage). i got mine for $395 including shipping...not a bad deal!

btw...would anyone know why the rear end would be a little higher than the front?? i never switched out the back shocks, should i??
 
i think i am one of the few who likes his car at standard height.
i stabbed my bags too:gr_devil:, but that was because i was putting new ones in.
 
If you people actually read the previous posts...... He wants a spring conversion kit.... IMO, go with strutmasters!

yeah your supposed to change out the rear shocks. I still havent but because I lowered it I blew 1 of the gas shocks from doing alot of work on the car after the fact(I think from jacking it up and dropping it down did it, since it was lowered it blew the shock) yeah also go to scp they sell the links for the rear sway bar u might want to read what they have to say. On the way to New Mexico on the highway My car hit some stupid dips that made my front plastic piece under the bumper hit, but maybe it was cause my car was filled to the brim w. shee-ot (all the extra weight) I have to go on angles as well as be careful parking in lots with the parking bumpers,and if u park next to a curb on the side sometimes they r high enough to open your door but when u get in the car w/ the door over the curb, it sits the door on it. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH CURBS W/ A LOWERING KIT!!! I cant stress that enough ok later
 
Since we are on the topic of spring conversion kit, who makes a 3-4 inch lowering kit?

when i was looking for my drop kit, i came across this company, i believe their name was Struts R Us. they said that they can customize the kit to have as much of a drop as you want. heres their ## 1-866-808-2467, the guy's name is tim. i thought i was goin to get a 3 inch drop kit made, but i ended up buying the strutmaster kit, which is by far low enough for me. i think they were pretty competitive to strutmasters prices too. hope this is helpful!
