I posted this in the LS section only to discover there was a performance section, so here goes again:
Plans are to install a 6.2l L92 in my 2003 LS just for the hell of it. And believe me, so far it’s been hell just removing the junked jag engine and trans. I see where some have done this before and have a quick question on dbw (drive by wire). The L92 is dbw but would like to convert to cable driven throttle. Has anyone successfully converted a Gen II to throttle cable? If so, how? Car has adjustable pedals currently. Maybe all Gen II cars do. Any help would be appreciated.

All 2nd gen had throttle by wire, but not all of them had adjustable pedals.

I’m are thinking using the l92 truck throttle body that’s dbw for a variety of reasons, but does anyone know what the output from the Lincoln pedal would be? On another note does anyone know what intake boot was used on this swap?

Here’s my mock-up with ls3 intake and l92 truck throttle body. A bit tight to the stock radiator and also at the rear vacuum line to A/C connection.

...at the rear vacuum line to A/C connection.
? The LS climate control does not use engine vacuum. The doors are all electric.

... but does anyone know what the output from the Lincoln pedal would be? ...

The pedal has two potentiometers for redundancy/safety.
Pin 1 (white/red) is the wiper for potentiometer one.
Pin 2 (yellow) is the positive reference for both potentiometers.
Pin 3 (brown) is the ground reference for both potentiometers.
Pin 4 (white) is the wiper for potentiometer two.

Sorry, now that I re-read the vacuum comment, let me explain further. I was not suggesting the A/C used vacuum, just the vacuum line at the rear of the intake which would normally go to the brake booster is very close to the a/c fitting on the firewall. Wondering if anyone has ever shortened it?

I’m no electronics guy but what is the voltage output of the pedal? 0-5v

That depends on the reference voltage that you feed it. If you supply a 5V reference, then it will be from a little above zero to a little below 5V. Your best bet would be to hook it up and measure the two wiper voltages as you move the pedal.

More pics from my Gen 2 6.2 LS swap. The 6l90 trans I want to use is big, so decided to mod the trans tunnel, which led to more fun(misery), lol.

More pics. Got a crossmember to mock up oil pan and see if even possible to fit using a rear sump pan. Obviously not enough room for the steering rack with a truck pan, but gonna trim it a bit. Crossmember does clear at roughly same crank centerline. I hope to lower the engine about 1-1/4” though

Trimming pan for steering rack. Ordered a Holley 302-1 to test fit as well. Does anyone know what fittings are in the rack? It would help if a tighter radius fitting (90) could be installed in place of the bent tubing. I’ll get a photo of the fitting later and post.

Quick update. Finally getting somewhat sorted on an aluminum 1 piece driveshaft for my ls engine/6l90 swap. Found a dorman replacement for a Silverado the correct length, just waiting on a conversion u joint. Not sure if I will have to cut the center bearing support for this 4” diameter driveshaft but should know in a couple days and will post.

Here’s the 4” aluminum driveshaft mocked up. It’s very tight but fits. Nothing touches, but will need more clearance around the center bearing carrier mount.

Planning to tackle the exhaust next. Anyone have any advice on long tube headers that clear the steering, and actually fit the channels underneath the floor pan?

I can confirm flowtech 12157FLT long tube headers will not fit, even on the passenger side where there is ample room. They hit the motor mount and steering rack fitting. Still open for suggestions
