I crashed the LS last thursday (4/21). Havent gotten word from the insurance company yet, so i dont know if its totalled or not.

Just wondering if the LS is known to be expensive to fix.

Was everyone OK in the car? If so, then great! As for the car that picture hurts my eyes. Just looking at it from the picture it looks like you'll need a new left fender, hood, front bumper cover, headlight, fog light, fender lining and the lower rock shield. I don't know what else is wrong under the hood but the stuff I mentioned above will probably cost you around $3,000 at the least to replace and have painted. Of course that might be a low ball number. It's probably totalled but that doesn't mean it can't be fixed. I'd say you could apply for a salvage title once the insurance company declares it a total.

You can find good used stuff for the LS. Just check local salvage yards in your area or look at some on the 'net.

Looks like an easy fix to me .. i don't think they will total it but who knows with insurance companies, you'll end up paying for it all anyway thats just how those operations work.

OUCH looks fixable to me! Makes me cry though, good luck with that repair.

the GF and I are both OK (me , im a ittle sore still, my back).

I was cut off, so its not my fault, therefore it wont cost me anything, money-wise.

Thanks for your opinions, it hurts to se eher that way, i only had her for a WEEK!

That's great no one got hurt. Wow, you only had it a week. That sucks !!! You didn't even get a chance to really experience the car. If the air bags both deployed...Bye Bye.. There around 3K with new sensors. Plus the body damage. Sorry for your luck.

Glad to hear that you and your girlfriend are fine!! Hope you can get the car fixed soon!! Hurt me to see that pic!! keep us posted on how the repairs goes!!

if the other person has insurance, you'll have to get a couple quotes for repair. they will quote you labor & new parts. then you'll have to submit it to that persons insurance. (which, sounds like you did that part & your waiting for an amount)

once you get a check, be wise & shop around some junkyards for used parts & you could get the repair done at a body shop for probably LESS than what the amount of the check will be.

any word of your frame...

with an accident like that you may have tweeked your frame and the ins. co. will total your car. good luck and yes from my experience my Ls has been expensive to fix good luck with your car and hope everyone is alright.

Yeah, thats what my friends and i have said, that the frame might be potentially twisted. Guess , i wait and find out. thanks for all the replies so far.

The LS doesn't sit on a "frame" per say. It's a uni-body construction but if it was hit hard enough in the front the suspension may be damaged.

So the car can be fixed if it wasn't hit too hard thats good to know!!

well illustrated. you paint a Very clear picture!!

now, sir, approximately how fast were you traveling when the vehicle made impact? speak up so the jury can hear you. ;)

hey, and if that happened to my car (and of course, if the other person was insured & no one was injured), i would be happy! its just an excuse to upgrade to a newer one!!! :L but you just got yours, so to you it was brand spankin new. that sux!!! :(

Sorry to see that man, I know how you feel now. Although mine is not as bad, but it looks horrid!

Hopefully you can get it fixed even if you have to get a salvage title. But it could all work out and not be totalled. Good luck man!

Ya know what.... judging from the other pictures, and the minimal damage to the other car... you might not be too bad off. do all the doors still open and close nicely? If yes, then I'd say you're pretty much safe for chassis twist. You most likely trashed the control arm and tie rod, but the glass looks good... Hell, the tires still had air in them.

Just for posterity's sake, it's not a uni-body car... it's a space frame design. Uni-body went out somewhere in the early to mid ninties. Anyway, you should have done a little better job of washing it. You know dealers hide hit me stickers on the car when you forst get them. :) But in all seriousness, from my fire department point of view, glad to hear that you and yours were both okay.
