I was on the way home last night had taken what I call the fun road and was kinda given the LS a workout. As I can to a stop at the end of the road the car just shutdown no warning no buzzers just died. This is the second time this has happened. The last time I was about to pull in the driveway had not been driving hard (wife and kids in the car) and it just died.

Both time I hit the starter fired right up and away I went. Any ideas were I need to start looking.

The first thing I'd check would be the battery terminals; make sure they're not eroded or corroded, and are still making good contact with the cables. It wouldn't hurt to get a battery post cleaner and clean the posts and cable connectors. After that, check the ground leads and make sure they're tight. It definitely sounds like an electrical problem; if it were fuel, you should get all sorts of warnings when the engine stalled--no alarms indicates that the car has lost its electrical system.

there was a common issue in early LSes - happened to me only once - but it was like driving fairly spiritedly, then quickly slowing down and turning left - then the car stalled - like it was out of fuel.

It never happen to me again, and since I auto-cross you think if it was something cronic it would happen out on the course.

I believe the people that were having this happen constantly had a PCM flash correct it.

The dealer put now (not factory) battery cables on when I bought the car in September could be working loose. But I would expect it to do that more offen???? I will have to talk to the local Lincon dealer about the PCM flash

Thanks for the responce

Mine stalled the other night. It was right before a sharp turn. Nothing like losing power steering heading into that turn.

AMEN on that the first time it died was turning in the drive way that there are BIG drops on both side I thought my next move was to grab my trail rig so I could winch the LS out of the ditch.

thats happend to me twice it was my altenator over heating and shuting down then the cars electronics killed the battery and the car just died as i was on my way home
