LS owner details GM car

Nice work. Going to check out a detailing plce close by, hopefully they do good work so I can leave my baby witht them.Mman, if only you were closer.

Do they have a website? I can check it out for you. A good detailer will have a list of steps the vehicle will go through to acheive a desired result.

Here is an example of a good detailer's website:

What would be a good diminishing polish? I have car wash marks as well as a couple of scratches.

I mainly use Menzerna. I have every one of their polishes. If I had to pick 2 to use with a random orbital, They would probably be Super Intensive Polish and PO106FA.

What do you think of this?

Wow!! That looks amazing. Now I need to get my butt in gear and try to do my car. I'm sure it won't look that good but if I even get halfway there I'd be super happy!!

Again, Nice work! Coming to the Detroit area any time soon??

Just responded to your pm, dude :D

Sorry I didn't last night. Only have my phone for internet at home, and links don't work too well with it.

Thanks. It takes a bit of patience and diligence to get a good finish. It's kind of a release for me. It gives me a chance to put on headphones, and get into a stress free zone. The results are always satisfying!

Detroit? Not anytime soon. But if you are looking for an excellent detailer in the southern Michigan area, check out www.deep-gloss.com

Looks like I'll be up at Bay Lake (just north of Mille Lacs) this summer for a family reunion. Unfortunately, I've got to bring the kids which means a trip in the minivan not the Lincoln. Otherwise I would do everything in my power to get your help on my paint. All I know is that you're in Northern MN anywhere near Brainerd?

About an hour away from Brainerd. GF has family there, so I'm there every couple months. I REALLY want to bring the LS to BIR to the road track.

THANK YOU PETE!!!!!!

I am very grateful for your help in purchasing the correct detailing products. I just hope I get the same results. The previous owner apparently used car washes on a regular basis and thought the deck lid was a table. I now stand a chance of returning the finish to it's showroom condition!

Pete, you are a true asset to the LS community!!

THANKS!

How the hell does paint get all those swirls in the first place??

Usually it's been my experience that "dusting off" a black car will do exactly that.

All the cars I had before the mark 8 were black cars, and it's very easy to fall prey to "ahh it's just dusty" and brush it off with a towel.

Which results in exactly what you see in those pictures above.

Nice work Pek, the sunset was really cool reflecting off the side off of whatever kind of car that was..lol

Incorrect washing (or in this case, drying) technique was the main culprit on this one. The guy goes to a touchless tunnel wash, but there are 2 guys at the end who use scotchbrites or the like to dry the car.

ONLY because I LIKE Pektel did I feel the need to fix this post.

Thanks. makes much more sense that way :D

Thanks, man. A lot of hard hours went into that detail.
