So my service ebrake comes on, and the car shifts needlessly and seems to have a hard time finding gear, then the rpms dip to almost zero when i stop. I ran codes and the most likely solution was the coils. So i replaced 8 coils and it didnt change a thing, however thats all my system shows as a solution besides replacing the whole comp. Any suggestions out there. Ohh, a 2005 lincoln ls 3.9l vin a

Alright from what I've gathered in the short time I've been here:

Transmission may need solenoid pack replaced. From the sticky:

2-3 shift is typically strange in these transmissions. Best way I've heard it referred to is "it's a 'feature' we just have to deal with." However, if you start to have substantial shifting problems from your transmission, you may look into the solenoids. These transmission have three solenoids, A, B, and C. To my understanding these little guys cause most of the heartache and frustration. Best to just change all three out if you're going into the transmission.

As for the E-Brake; I actually just had this issue for the first time two nights ago. Service Parking Brake on dash, E brake light on console illuminated, beeped every time I engaged it. Next day problem was gone, no issues since. There's a TSB on it, apparently it's just a malfunctioning piece of electronics:

As for the RPM dips, no expert here but has the system been tested for vacuum leaks?

Thanks, however now the engine makes a grinding noise when accelerating and there is a bunch of lag and my oil has a bronze tint to it. Im guessing the engine is :q:q:q:qed.
