Hi all,
Looking for some help here, when I use the phob to unlock my car 80% of the time the drivers side mirror moves irratically. Usually powers in.
Dealership 'thinks' I need a new mirror assembly (300$ installed).
I think perhaps the easy exit is confused? I have tryed to reset the driver settings... no luck.

Any Ideas?

Thats gotta be one of the "saved" settings....do you have another fob?

I was reading the owners manual, yes im that lame haha, but it was saying how you can program the seat, mirrors, and steering wheel with ONE fob, like the settings 1 and 2, you can have one fob automatically change to setting one, and the other fob changes it to setting 2

By the way, DO NOT listen to the stealership, I can already tell you what they'll do.

1) Replace the mirror (Which is NOT needed)
2) Reset the drivers configurations (Which solves the problem with the old mirror)
3) Charge you out the ass

They might not even change mirrors, theyd probably polish yours up real nice and say its new.

Thanks, know where to find the proper proceedure for setting the drivers settings AND the phobs? I understand that setting the Phobs to the settings buttons is a different prooceedure.

Yea it is, I fell asleep when I got to that part haha, if you still have your owners guide, grab it, im gonna run and grab mine and find the page.....what year is your LS?

ok, p103:

"Deactivating the memory seat/mirror/steering column feature"
1. Press the SET button on thr drivers door panel
2. Within 5 seconds, press a button on the remote fob you would like to deactivate, then press SET once more
3. Thats it

"Activating the memory/seat/steering column feature"
1. Position seat, mirrors, and steering column to the positions you desire
2. Press SET on the door panel
3. Within 5 seconds press a button on the fob, and press either 1 or 2 which you would like to asscosiate with the seats/mirrors/steering column position

If you don't have the owners manual you can down load it from TECH ARTICLES at the top of the page next to SEARCH.

My little writeup thing should work, I doubt they would change something like that in 2 years, thats still a 1st gen

Thanks, I tried these instructions but there is still something up.
Now doesn't seem to take the new settings...

That's because the problem is indeed the mirror. One or more of the potentiometers that indicate the position of the mirror has gone bad. It might be possible to get some more life out of it by spraying electrical contact cleaner in the potentiometers, but you would have to disassemble the mirror to do that.

Isn't it absolutely amazing the things that can be learned just by reading the manual?

Yes...yes it is, and theres something weird about them...they pull you in and you cant stop reading them LOL, and I hate reading!
