Hey guys
1. I would like to know how ford gained 10hp and 10tq for the year 2002 over the past 2 years???
2. My v6 LS comes with 3.07:1 rear axle ratio since it is a manual, I was wondering if I could swap in the 3.58:1 from the automatic v6? if not what are my other options? My LS has very long gears and it is killing it..
3. I am planning on doing a custom 2.5" exhaust for my LS will that help it gain some hp? I heard the 2000-2002 v6 LS exhaust is very restrictive...

I thought it was the use of a better air box that made the V6 gain HP before they did away with our manuals and made the V6 a VVT engine.

My original 00 MTX had the lower gear set out back (3.4x or 3.5x) and then its replacement came with the airplane gears. I got used to them and enjoyed a 1-2 MPG fuel economy gain over my first 00 LS manual car.

so you are saying that 2000 LS has the better gearing already? my car tops out 2nd gear at 70 and 3rd at 100.. that is longggg esp for a car that weights so much and not enough balls

Only the very earliest V6 Manuals had those gears.

I am not sure about your posted top speeds (at red line?) in 2nd and 3rd. It seems to be close to mine. Are you on a tune or using wheels larger than the 17s?

no tune and stock wheels... it just seems like they are way too long and the car is week under 3750 rpms

The Gen 1 exhaust in general for both V6 and V8 blows ass, well, it blows less air than that...
