LSE Body Kits No Longer Available

We wanted to let everyone know that the 2000-2002 LSE body kits are no longer available. Autolign Manufacturing is the company that produced the kits and has went out of business according to a local newspaper in Milan, MI. You can read the article here:

http://www.milannews.com/stories/041207/loc_20070412018.shtml

We know that they had approximately 7 kits left along with some front fascias and rear lower valances. We are trying to locate a contact to get those remaining kits from the company. If we are successful at getting the kits we will sell the remaining lots. However, this may not happen.

I'm sure the employees of Autolign are just as shocked as anyone else. We suspected it for quite some time but tried to get what kits we could before they closed. We will now try to work with other companies like Wings West, 3dCarbon and similar places to see if they can produce the LSE body kit.

Again, if you were fortunate enough to buy the kits then consider yourself lucky. It is definitely a rare item now!

Woo that blows, I would probably be in the market for one right about now if I had kept the LS. I hope another place like you said steps up and makes it cause imo its the best kit for it.

Too bad the '04+ LSE kit doesn't fit on 00-02 :(... well it does but w/ a few hitches..

Also the amazing price for it.

Ken, if I may just call you by that? I have read about you selling your LS, are you going to keep your buisness?

Man I wish I had purchased a 03+ kit, I wanted one so bad for my 2000.

Nick, from other posts that I read on it seems that they fit well if you also add the headlights and other such components. The Hooligan Customs Car Domain page has one posted there that has no flaws from what I have been told. To my understanding, the 03+ headlights leave a gap but when paird up with the Bumper it is closed. The same goes in reverse for the bumper, I may be wrong but thats what I have been understanding by my readings.

yeah, that's what i was talkin about the hitches.. It's the gaps. I think that hooligans actually filled in the gaps and just buffed it out to look like one piece.

W/ the price of the bumper alone, and the paint, and if you really wanted to, the fill of the gap. WOW!! $$$$$

noooooo way. Is there anyway to get one more? If you can find another kit ken pm me asap and ill jump on it. I knew this would happen if i put it off long enough.

LS Koncepts is not going out of business. The manufacturer of the 2002 Lincoln LSE body kit is gone. We purchased the body kits from them. The 03+ kits are still available on our website. The front fascia and side skirts will fit the 2000-2002 LS with only minor modifications. However, the rear lower valance will not fit since it is three pieces.

I'm working with Ford to find out if they can still get the LSE body parts for the 2002 LSE. If so, they will be more than what we sold them for. Like I said before we are trying to locate some Autolign officials to see if we can purchase the remaining kits if at all possible. They had 7 kits left last week so we are trying to get those. However, no promises though!

Thanks Ken! That is cool that you are not selling the store, I know I look forward to purchasing more and you are the only reliable source for LS parts of quality.

dealerships cannot order LSE bumpers/side skirts say if your 2002 LSE got in an accident?

maybe i should just get someone to crash into my front bumper so i can have their insurance buy me one. On second thought, never mind.

Hey if its an accident and you got a shop that can hook ya up like where my dad works they order the LSE kit and the insurance takes care of it. When I had a bumper bender lol w/ my LS about a week afterwards I talked to manager and he said if he know I wanted the LSE kit he would of wrote it up, kinda pissed be off but that car is gone now anywho.

I've had friends who have been able to get different hoods and front bumpers and insurance picked up the tab. Funny what a little friendly conversation and some referrals can do. Most body shops I have dealt with are open to suggestions, as long as you work with them.

2002 LSE Sport Front Bumper

Ken,
I am the overly proud owner of a monotone black 2002 (1/2) LSE. Who was recently unfortunate enough to have a friend drive my LSE backwards into a ditch on the way to a ski hill.. no damage other than the backwards motion pealed the front bumper cover off the car in many pieces.
When I arrived to pick up my vehicle after repair, my lady friend (not a clue about cars) commented "that is not your car"... yes it is that obvious.... and she was correct they had put a 2W4Z17D957AAA on my car.
The insurance company has acknowledged that it is the wrong part, however, apparently it is the only one offered by Ford as service. And there fore the insurance company is saying that this is it.
The 2W4Z17D957AAA is so the wrong part that my original round fog lights (still intact) did not fit and new ones had to be ordered to fit the new bumper.
I am more than a little disheartened.
Do you have any idea of the original part number for the bumper from my car? I know that 2W4Z17D957AAA is the worn part. I have attached a picture which shows the car, repaired with the wrong bumper. Unfortunately I do not have a before picture.
I would like to return the car to its previous glory....
The Vehicles VIN is somewhat unusual as well as it was a special release

That is the original part number for the 2002 LSE grille. The official part number is 2W4Z-17D957-AAA. Original list price is around $950. They must have cross referenced the part numbers with something else. The part numbers we get are:

00-02 LS w/ sport pkg - XW4Z-17D957-BA
00-02 LS w/o sport pkg - XW4Z-17D957-AA
02 LSE - 2W4Z-17D957-AAA

I hope that helps.

thanks... I think.... :)

Ken,
Thanks a bunch!
But I have to admit that I am confused...
What I am reading from you is that the bumper installed on my car is the correct one????
The one in the picture is VERY different that the one that was origionally on my car. As I mentioned; a gf that arrived with me to pick it up insisted it was not my car...
ok.. anyway... so..?

  • What does a XW4Z-17D957-BA look like?
  • Do you know a place wher I can go and view these different covers? perhaps I can figure it out that way...
  • Is there a place I can get the build sheet for my VIN?
  • In your opinion is the one in the picture the correct bumper?? (I will try to get a better picture to post)
I understand that my car was a 2002.5 V8 LSE Sport with the Monotone package(no crome), it was a Ford Exec car, and does have an options combination that stunns the dealership things like the high end audio..and no sunroof...
... sorry about all the questions, I have a small window of opprotunity that if I find the correct part I will make the insurance company change it... otherwise it is my cost. I will make it happen either way.
again Ken, any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I will try to load some more pics up in the next day or so...
a lesson learned for all, take pictures of your car!

That looks like the factory bumper I have on my 2002 LSE. My cars build date is 07/02. I have never heard of a 2002.5? What was different on your old bumper? The fog lights look like they fit properly, whats wrong with those? You also said that the VIN is unusual because it was a special release, do you know what was different with your car?

Differences

2002OhioLSE,
I am very sorry I do not have a picture, the differences that I can remember are;
  • The bumper was lower to the ground.
  • The fog lam holes were "clean" I think, there wasn't the fairing from low and centre to the lamp hole, just a round clean sharp edged hole.
  • The grill... I believe the hole was narrower? and that the horizontal aspects were far less obviouse(if there, sorry I cannot remember)
  • I know that the cover you see is so different that they could not mount the origional fog lamps on it, they had to order new ones.
  • I know that there are two mounting holes, that are now visible within the grill that were obviously used for mounting, that are not used now. (about 3" in from each side)
  • .... I may think of more...

Again, all my none car friends have noticed....
I used to regularly get stoppped by LS owners wondering what trim package I had as their's "doesn't look anything like that"
I believe that mostly comes from the LSE skirt package, the monotone package (which include the grey painted wheels and grill)... there is no crome on the car at all. (window frames)
I totally love this car, I have had it since 2003 and evertime I get in it I still giggle like the first time, especialy as it says "hello" with that nice torque shake as I start it... love that.
Some would say I am being picky... but.. well. .yes I am. I want it back the way it was.
Any help, or direction to pics and parts numbers would be appreciated.
regards,
Stephen

ps: Not that I know for sure... but I was told by the Platform Engineer (yes I have met him) that the 2002.5 was a trim release to boast the reviews in Car and Driver and Road and track where the LS out-performed the 540i on all aspects of testing. A chest pounding type of release.... so I was told.
regarding the VIN: it was unusual enough that it did not come up when I first took it to a dealership, it was several days before the dealership and Ford were on-line as to it being an existing LS, it has raised eyebroughs at every service counter I have taken it to. I think this may have been because it was also a CAP unit. this may also help...??

Are you sure that your front bumper cover was from the factory and the original owner didn't put an after market bumper on it? Have you run a carfax to make sure it was never in a fender bender, or are you the original owner? I am just trying to find out all the possible angles. I wish you had a picture of the old bumper, I would love to see what it looked like.

Thats the 2002 LSE bumper unless the previous owner put on the 04-05 LSE bumper as an upgrade, thats the only other possibility. Here is the 04-05 LSE front end on my car.

The monotone look you talk about is on all the sport package cars and LSE's

I bought the car in Jan of 2003 with under 20,000km on it.
it was a CAP unit.
Meaning I bought it from Ford Canada, it was a turned in executive car.
When I got the car it was less than 6 months old. I never changed the bumper.

I will try to get some better pictures this weekend.

nevermind, if you bought the car in 03, this front bumper wouldnt have even been out yet.
