LSE Body Kits No Longer Available

I am wondering if there is a record of the 2002.5 build.
as you bumper looks closer...
but I do not believe mine was rounded under like yours, the bottom edges were more verticle...

nice car bye-the way.... :)

did you see my ps about the magazine article a few posts back?

Thats the 2002 LSE bumper unless the previous owner put on the 04-05 LSE bumper as an upgrade, thats the only other possibility. Here is the 04-05 LSE front end on my car.

The monotone look you talk about is on all the sport package cars and LSE's

Damn thats a bad ass ride 02V8Sport, I like it more every time I see it.

What if the original owner got in a fender bender and had the original LSE bumper replaced with an aftermarket bumper because of the rediculous price of an LSE bumper from Ford and did it out of pocket to side step the insurance co. Just a thought. If that is the case you will never know what was on it.

thanks for the comment, Those are the only 2 known LSE bumpers I have ever seen.

I saw your ps. Dont know about any 2002.5 LSE

The LS was made to compete with the 5 series but its not even close to a 540 with a 6-speed. It may compete with a 530 and thats about it. It may be competetive with the LS V6 vs. the BMW V6, but not close with the BMW V8 vs. the LS V8.

I stand corrected on the 540i ( I will have to look up the articless again)

I am perplexed, thank you all for your input... it would seem Iam out of luck..
on a final note....
The lamps were full size to the holes as well, there was not any sort of trim around the hole, I can see in the picture of yours that there is a moulded bump around the hole, mine did not have that.
I also do not remember the bottom edge raising up under the lamps, it was straight across...
and.. the skirting on mine fairs out all the way around, it did this as well on the front bumper.
I have attached two pictures, one badly modified pic to show the lamp holes ( my appoligies for using your pic and defacing it) and the other is a pick of the side of my actual car showing the skirt flairing, if you notice near the wheels it really comes out, this was there in front of the front wheel as well, the feature wa on the front bumper.

The LSE was a mid-year introduction in 2002, that may be where they told you it was a 2002.5. When I pulled up your VIN, it shows a build date of 8/29/2002 and a warranty start date of 9/15/2002. It may be different in Canada, but in the US the warranty doesn't start until the car is sold, so it doesn't seem like it was a program car. The side skirts in the picture look like the stock 2002 side skirts, the flare in front of the wheels does carry through the front bumper cover. The LSE used round foglights, the LS didn't so they would need to replace the foglights if they used the regular bumper cover.

I can relate to your dilema. I purchased a 1997 Ford Explorer that was special ordered by the president of the local Ford F-150 plant & it took me 3 months to get a title because of the special VIN. It had every option, 5.0 V-8, but cloth interior, AWD. Only 1 sold by Ford! The wife & I looked @ 3 2002.5 LSs the local dealer had with those options you described. They did look better! We bought the 1st LS available in are area! Local dealer had 2 V6s and 2 V8s in 2000. It was a Ford company store, closed this year.

Not to burst your bubble but there are tons of 5.0 awd explorers running around optioned up. I don't see what made yours so special.
