I paid $38K for mine the summer of 2002.

Pretty sure it was $2995.00 on the Gen II, not sure about the Gen I.

Looks like sticker on a base V8 2002 LSE was like 40,300. I guess it was not listed on the sticker as an individual option like on the Gen IIs, it was sold as an LSE. Vs the Gen II being sold as an LS with the LSE appearance package. Though it is all one in the same...

Yup--according to the '02 Order Guide, the LSE was an "Array" (what most people would call a "model") like the Sport and Premium, not an option. I thought Edmunds showed original sticker prices, but I couldn't find it during a brief search.
