Magnaflow sound?

Thanks for the advice everyone. Exhaust note is, as with most things, subjective. I had some freetime the other day so I removed the mufflers and installed some straight 2"dia sections in their place, just to get an idea. I must say that it does not sound at all harsh or "blabbery" though I haven't heard it from outside the car going down the road yet. While it's fun tooling around in its current state, I am planning on an x-pipe in the relatively near future and will go with a set of magnaflows possibly, with the factory tips.

Might want to consider dual X's to reduce and almost eliminate cabin drone. It can get annoying and if you have your mufflers off now, then you should be getting the idea by now about the drone you're hearing inside the car. Sometimes it can be hard to talk over if someone is riding with you. If the one Magnaflow X I'm having put in doesn't eliminate it, then I'll add another. I'm also going with Magnaflow mufflers and "Pypes" tips.

Thanks! The interior noise is not excessive at all, def not intrusive on conversations or listening to the radio at normal levels. I do like the idea of x-pipe and magnaflows, and while the Pypes tips look nice my stock tips are in good shape so I really want to go with them again.

This video was the one that to me, made it sound louder than what I was after. I did just listen to a few other videos of others with that system and it has a different tone to it than this video does. The others did seem a lot more low toned.

This one sounds damn good but different cam and mic. Maybe that's the difference, idk.

Just for reference, I just installed Geno's dual X-Pipe and 2 1/2" stainless starting at the cat's all the way back. I too was afraid after hearing that video that it might be to loud for my taste, but after driving it this afternoon it's just what I was hoping for. Loud enough to know it's not a stock exhaust, yet quiet enough to not be annyoning. At no time was there any raspiness whatsoever.....

Even on the freeway, there was virtually no drone at all. You get a little exhaust tone during minor acceleration, but as soon as you get to cruising speed it quiets right down.

I wasn't a fan of the dual tips either, but they're starting to grow on me. If not, those can be easily replaced.

If you're turned off because of how loud it sounds on the video don't be. It's not nearly as loud in person.........

I am just going for some rumble right now, have to do it in in steps as budget permits so cat and x-pipe will have to be at a later date :(

I'm doing mine just backwards from that. Cat delete and dual-x's first, let it breathe a little better... then decide if I want a little more rumble (and decide between magnaflow or borla) or maybe just try straight pipes for a while.

My order is more a matter of convenience than anything: some pipe, a couple of hangers and a few clamps, a sawzall and an hour of my time is all I have invested. I have to say that the mod has proven detrimental to my mpg's lol, before I just tooled around and now I am a bit heavier with the right foot now :D
