Now some more help for you. Its NOT your sparkplug that is the problem its you COP(coil on plug) Very easy to change you can do it. Good idea to change plug when doing COP also. Why are you not listing codes AZ is giving you here. You like keeping secrets? LOL

In my reply I was actually agreeing with you about the O2 sensors that were recently changed. I personally have junked an O2 sensor removing it but it may have been in poor shape to begin with. It also took me a couple of days to remove the driver's side O2 sensor and that was with PB Blaster and heat. I'll admit I'm no master mechanic though. Maybe you have a much easier time with O2 sensors than I do.

Oh yep I got what you meant sorry about that.
 
OP has a Gen2 so he could also open the air injection ports at front of exh manifolds. That's right up front and easy to get to on a Gen 2 correct?
 
im gonna be in clayton county bt i know about the on coils ima change that too. if th spark plugs dont work ill try the o2 sensor trick. codes i dnt kno about, dude at autozone didnt tell me the code he just typed it in an spark plugs came up. now in ga to pass admissions do you have to cats?

technically yes, but if you ever get a tune (chip/pcm mod), whoever creates it might be able to override the missing cats

Misfire, running rich.
Each cylinder has a coil for every plug it common for these to go bad.

Do you mean Clayton texas?
Bring your car to Bill "Laser" he will fix it.
 
reading all this great knowledge and had a thought (I think) If the air filter was clogged and the MAF all filthy would this restrict intake air while feeding too much fuel and cause the 02's and CC to mess up? On my 97 I had to change 2 02 sensors to get through emissions. Would'nt idle and changed the IAC. Pulled the air filter and it was solid yellow,new= white. MAF black cleaned it front and rear and car now runs well.
 
i gt my tune up done and it wasnt that the problem still consists it still misfires on the 5th spark plug which i know means changing the on coil bt i doubt that changes my problem...any ideas?

Did you get all NEW coils when tune up was done? Again STOP being vague in your responses. List what you had done in the "tune up". We are not mind readers. We can help you better if you help yourself. Help me, help you. (was that from a movie?)LOL

ok guys since my tune up of spark plugs air filter and fuel filter i took it up to a local autoshop for a diagnostic they told me i have a little restriction in my catalytic converters buti have a vaccum leak in my intake mannifold for some reason he couldnt tell me where exactly because it would cost 626$ to take it apart and find the problem. he said it could be one of two things either its a gasket or crack in my mannifold he also said if it is a crack its gonna be like 2800$ to fix so i brought my car home and went and bought my own diagnostic tester, i tested my car and codes p1451 and p1151 are the only two codes that showed up so now im asking you guys again whats the best option for me in this situation?
 
P1151 is a lean O2 sensor code. supports the vac leak theory.

you can buy a socket set and intake gaskets for a lot less than $600.
 
I believe the 1151 means an O2 sensor thinks the engine is running rich, which I think makes sense with a misfire, due to raw fuel being dumped into the exhaust, but then, when the PCM tries to correct it it goes lean. The loop between the PCM and O2 sensor is unable to properly correct the rich condition without going lean.

To me, this could mean a lazy O2 sensor or it could just be that the misfire causes a problem that is too severe for the PCM to correct even though it tries. If that were the case though, where is the misfire code????

nope. a misfire will read lean because there is unburnt oxygen in the exhaust.

its an oxygen sensor, not a fuel sensor.
 
Don't let the intake intimidate you. Just be very careful to keep any debris or parts from dropping into the engine. Plug everything as you disassemble. Or just look at the care that Sap has taken on his own car and head over to his house before he changes his mind. Bring expensive craft beer and listen to all anecdotes.

nice mark, now as far as a tune up goes... here you go
1. Replace ALL 8 coil packs, and plugs,. Most like autolite 764 plugs
2. Synthetic oil and motorcraft anti-drain back valve oil filter
3. New fuel filter (this or plugs is probably why your car hesitates), New Air Filter
4. Check for vaccuum leaks, (i.e the T-shaped vacuum line on top of your intake manifold)
5. If you feel like doing it for the maintenance and hell of it, replace you TPS and IACV
(also PLEASE if you do decide to replace you IACV replace it with a Motorcraft brand one, those cheap ones make your car get a buzzy sound from the airbox at low rpms like 1200 or so and its SOOOOO annoying, im dealing with this now)
6. I would check your tranny fluid, if its brown or discolored it might too late to change it, but if its still a nice red color i would replace it with Mercon 5 Fluid, its helped alot of people with the 4r70w trans your mark has with shudder problems and all that good stuff.
 
I recently changed all my gaskets in my intake manifold which fixed my idling problem and doesn't kill as much bt it still takes a long time for it to pick up speed I could be flooring it bt it will only do 10 to 20 mph any ideas?
