Hello everyone......i know I'll prob hit a hot button with this one...but I am curious...I've heard many things.....LSC's are faster than regular marks.....regualr marks are faster.....2nd gens are faster...2nd gens are slower...I've heard so many thing.....i've heard 1st gens have a better computer....lsc's rear hurts them...I want to know......what is the ultimate mark VIII performance wise in 100% stock form..whether 1st or second gen and lsc or non lsc...I'd assume a second gen lsc would be the best..but since i've heard so much i really don't know

I belive the fastest stock Mark VIII is the 98 LSC. Then was 93 and 96 about the same not 100% sure though.

NO way is the 98 the fastest

My 94 stock....like she is now fresh oil change, tune-up about 2weeks old, trans flushed with Amsoil, all filters change. I can't say, but the 97-98 LSC had big problems with me! You will be surprised what basic maintenance does to these cars. Now a friend has his 95 chiped up and exhaust work and a few more mods so I can't pull him out.....yet!

The Gen 1 are faster than the gen 2 because of the weight.
I don't think the LSC are that fast from the base. Does any body have the ET times for a stock base and LSC.(same year)

my 95 non lsc is bone stock.......and the 97 lsc is bone too......just was curious......the lsc has the true dual exhaust and the 3.27 axle ratio.......i'm sure they're all close...one just might out shine another

It's been said that the 93 is the fastest, period. This is comming from the "knowlege" that the timing maps are a little more agressive on the 93's. But the times between any of these cars is gonna be within a tenth of a sec of each other. Now....go to modding them, and everything goes out the window.

Thats a tough question one might be faster in one state than the other... Sea levels hummidity and so on amd so on.............. :Bang :Bang

Marks throw down before or after mod, they throw it down. It's all in the balls and skillz of the driver, personally, I've not found a ceiling yet with my 96 LSC, and the 94 I romanced for 10 years never.... ever!.... let me down.

Of course, both my Marks were "kept boys".

Hi Debi ...How fast have you had yours up to? Ceiling? I took mine up to 120 once and it wasn't DUN yet LOL

My 95 LSC ran 14.9 or 15.0 stock with just mufflers and k&n panel filter at 95mph. My dad's 96 ran a 14.9 at 96mph all stock. The dual exhaust and lower gearing on the LSC's does help a bit. I think the biggest difference in performance would be the 2nd gen intake, which is noticely worse than the 1st gen. I would say the fastest Mark VIII's stock are the 93 (with the more agressive ecu stock) and the 95/96 LSC.

the 2nd gen intake tube is worse? I'd think it'd be better than a 1st gen since there isn't that air scilencer.........anyways...my 95non LSC tromped a 93 tonight.....so it basically probably comes down to driver, vehicle tune, and maybe tightness of the engine.

Now...the real question....can we put the more agressive timing maps on another year car?

my stock non-LSC 94 has run multiple passes at 14.8 @ 97 mph.

i haven't had a chance to run my car yet...but i did walk my buddies 92 camaro..which ran a 15.0..and i had the TCS and climate control on....so i'm sure high 14's are very feasable

my dad has had 2 93's still has one,and a 98 lsc.his first comments when he bought the 98 in july 1998 was that it was not as fast as his 93's.he still holds to that statement today, his cars are as bone stock as can be.he has always wondered why the 3.27 gears still dont make it atleast as quick as the 93.with 3.07 gears,,
his 93's always returned better gas mileage too.

93-95's are the QUICKEST and FASTEST period. Shift them at 6k manually with the od and tc off. The 96 and up OBII cars had such an awful program fornthe cars management.

Super slushy soft shifts, 97-98's dumping the timing befoe high rev manual shifts etc. The LSC's are NOT a milisecond faster then standard Marks either. Beleive me we have tried.

Actually the LSC's we have run have been a tenth or slower. Didnt show one more hp on the dyno either.

ok..i can see how diffent years are faster....but how can a lsc not be as fast as the same year car? I don't think ford would make their performance model slower than the regular version....plus the lsc has a better exhaust

I think the biggest difference would probably be what state of tune the engine is in. An engine with new plugs and wires vs. an LSC with old plugs and wires the base Mark VIII will win every time because the dual exhaust and gears won't make it up.
