Hey guys, as some of you know I have a 94 Mark with almost 62k on it. I am planning on doing a road trip to Colorado this October in it.

What are some good preps I can do to the car before the trip? Other than obvious oil change, tire rotation, and new wipers?

I don't want the air suspension to be an issue how can I check that I'm good to go before hand?

I know humidity, salt, and cold can be rough for any car although it will only for a week's worth of driving.

I know afterwards to be sure to get any little crack or crevice cleaned out because I know the roads will have salt/sand to prevent ice.

Let me know, Thanks.

turn the air ride switch off and drive it around for a day or so. if the bags drop, you have an issue coming up.
if they don't you are probably good to go.

tire pressure is one people sometimes forget.

i'd bring extra fluids along. 5w20, brake fluid, and mercon v. and check to make sure everything in it is full.

otherwise, there could always be an unforseen failure, but you can't really know about any of those.

Sounds good, thanks.

How do the air suspensions hold up at higher elevations?

I took my 93 with 159,000 miles on a trip to CO back in 2004. Only problem I had was coming back home. Just do your typical car prep for a long trip. If you are not having troubles now you shouldn't have any troubles then. Your car is barely broke in. Doubt you'll have issues. Also 94m5 lives near Pikes Peak. Give him a PM and I'm sure he'd help you out if you had trouble.

Drop me a PM when you are headed out, we could meet for dinner or something. Hell, I may have both the 97 AND the 95 running by then.

Lots of stuff to do out here.
