mark vs. bird

Um i may be stating the obvious here. but i had a 3.8 at one point.. and i have a mark now.. did anybody else notice the road was wet if that be the case... the bird could in theroy take off at full power and be in better straights than the mark viii just my 2cents.

i dunno, that looked not too shabby. the t-birds front end was kicking UP off the line so there was some nice torque... i doubt on the Nitrous though cuz thats an awful lotta bottle to burn just havin fun doin burnouts and donuts..

That is what I said dry road would make a big diff. in that race

Not unless the T-bird had a LSD. Notice how it hooked up. No one wheel spin, which would've been more pronounced on the T-bird if both were open rear ends (assuming the t-bird was producing more torque from idle). considering the weather, a stock Mark VIII should have the advantage to a stock t-bird, as far as hooking up, because of the torque curve of the DOHC engine vs. the torque curve of a pushrod engine.

youre right. if it was a gen 1 the mark wouldnt have to play catch up;)

i call gears, LSD, and spray.

personally id love to run into a lightly modded SC. ive driven a few stock 1s and im not worried about them until a pulley swap happens.

Im suprised i havent caused any arguements yet....GEN 1s ARE BEASTS:bow:

I've got a mildly modified 90 SC 5spd... IMO stock for stock the SC will take the Mark until the SC shifts into 3rd while the Mark runs through the top of second. A full 1/4 mile would be close either way, shorter than that I'd give it to the SC, longer the Mark (or a freeway roll would be all Mark.) When I'm done with the cam swap in mine... maybe driller would be a good run for me off the spray. ;)

As far as the Bird in the video, it wasn't a SC... for all we know it could be a splitport swap with bonus mods or on spray. I would bet on gears/LSD based on the launch.
