McCain seals GOP nomination as Romney suspends campaign

Ron Paul is truly the only guy who WANTS to reverse direction. Forget whether or not he could.

Cutting taxes is not reversing direction. It's tinkering in an obviously broken and oppressive system and still only slows the descent into unfair taxation.

I'll give you the Cold War, mainly because I think that was one of the best things Reagan did. But he passed gun control laws, didn't put a rein on spending, signed amnesty for illegals, and didn't work to repeal any laws. He worked within the system instead of trying to change it.

Do you really think the system is fine and 90% of it doesn't need to be thrown out? Come on, be honest. Forget about whether or not we can throw out 90% of it, name one candidate who wants to even start in that direction besides Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is for some pretty radical changes, and domestically I LUV his ideas, especially on health care. I doubt he could get them accomplished though, in part because of the communicator thing.

The answer isn't to then vote for a minority candidate with no possiblity of winning, thus no opportunity to affect change. The goal is to field a candidate like that early on- to do that you MUST educate the public FIRST.

In the meantime, you don't throw away the election because you're not satisfied. Ultimately, a strong Democrat will make all of those changes far more difficult, if not impossible, in the future.

It's funny. You ask me a question and I answer it. I ask you a question in return and you avoid it. By not answering my question you leave yourself room to continue taking potshots at my position while not having to take a stand for yours.

This is becoming regular practice for you guys. Maybe you all should run for office.

Sorry 'bout that. Thought they were rhetorical.
Which question? the 90% thing? or the "name a cadidate" thing?

I can see how you thought they were rhetorical. I assume from your statement that you see my point.

Look, I'm a common sense guy. One of the reasons I did like Perot, although I voted for Bush 41 (see, I did support the party, look where it got me), was because he took a common sense approach to things.

"You need to just lift up the hood and see what's broken, and fix it!"

The knock on Perot was that he wasn't enough of an insider to get Washington insiders to work with him on fixing the problems in Washington. In other words, the inmates are running the asylum. What level of corruption has our government sunk to when nobody in Washington is interested in anythiing citizen-related, but instead focuses on their own powerbase? (I know, another rhetorical question)
