To replace both of the UPPER CONTROL ARMS. Labor only.

Yay? or Nay?

I don't want to get into it, I just can't work on it on my own right now.

Thanks.

I still have to look for the parts price.

Check your lower control arms and sway bar link. They may charge an extra $50 or so. Since you don't want to get into it, you may as well get it all done.

Not a bad price, i was quoted 130.00 each side but its a simple job to do with basic hand tools. It took me an hour each side from start to finish for just the uppers.

Thanks Fellas, .. that was my next question. I'm looking into it all.

And what I meant by "dont want to get into it", is " I dont want to get into it, as to the reasons why I don't want/cant do it myself." :)

anyway. The guy checked and he says the LCAs are fine... I'll just pick up a pair of Tbirds regardless

Need to do the Strut Rod bushings, and Rear shock mount bushins as well.

Just wondering, does Anyone have a pic of where the Strut Rod Bushing are on the car?? I have no frikken idea where it is.

Forgot to mention, that's 170 WITH an alignment. so far, you guys are telling me some good news.

Thanks guys.

In order to put in the strut rod bushings he will need to adleast drop the lower control arms. There are two sets of bushings. One set ties the subframe to the strut rod, and the second connects the strut rod to the lower control arm. So if there is any doubt about the lower control arms now is the time to replace them as well as the end links for the sway bars. You then will need a front wheel alignment (you should bet a 4 wheel alignment if you have never given the car one). That is why it was suggested to do the whole thing, you will be amazed how the car then feels like new again.

The lower control does not have out to come out for strut rod bushing replacement. I have never seen the frame to strut rod bushing go bad, but have changed many strut rod to control arm bushing, If tires are wearing fine and does not pull an alignment is not necessary. there is no adjustment in the upper arms, so replacing them would just correct the alignment. you can even replace strut rod bushings and not need an alignment. All I do is loosen strut/shock nuts, remove strut rod nut and use a come along to pull spindle back replace bushings and bam, Also Is you car still air ride or spring converted? If it is spring converted use t-bird control arms, much cheaper.

well thats a good prize thats about 50.00 a sise plus 70.00 for alignment but like the guys are saying 4 wheel alignment is the way only if your tires are showing un even wear if they are wearing good then just do the uppers and links and it shouls be just fine lol...

great info guys. Thanks.

Now to find the best deal/quality on these parts..

Strut rod is way over due.. that's one of the main issues i noticed when the car was handed over to me: Outside tire wear in the fronts.
