meth injection question

later on down the road i want to end up supercharging my 97. and i will be getting a meth kit. ive read somewhere that certain colors of windshield wiper fluid work as a good solution. and that some colors will hurt your engine. what i was wondering is this true? if so what colors would be acceptable? and are different brands better than others?

also what would be a good percentage of meth/water solution? i know this has been covered many times but i thought it would be convenient to have that information in the same thread for anyone else who is interested in this subject.

I have looked into this as well. The blue washer fluid should be fine i'm not sure if the others will cause any damage. The companies I spoke with sell 50/50 solutions. Most good washer fluids are 20/80. Which means the washer fluid has less meth. If you are to use the washer fluid you will need larger amounts to give th esame result as a 50/50 mix. With that said,the snow performance guy I spoke with said he would run th ewasher fluid due to the cost savings.
Maybe burbank will chime in and give some first hand knowledge.

well i did find a link saying that the blue fluid is the best but it also talks about the blue dye left residue buildup. have you heard of that before?

i also found this thread. i believe it is the one i was thinking of. it states that some fluids contain glycol which can cause engine harm.

and just because Midas gives you free washer fluid with your Courtesy Check doesn't mean you can use it for meth injection either, there's no meth...I was working these past 7 months there and it's only blue dye mix with water

someone asked me to put it in his meth tank...luckily I told him the truth

blue don't mean nuthin
 
I wonder if a radiator fluid tester could be used to test the washer fluids.

When it comes to windshield washer fluid you want to pay attention to the temperature rating listed on the container. The blue negative -20 windshield washer fluid is what you want to buy. Its actually right around 33% methanol the rest water. Don't buy any fancy stuff that has added bug remover or cleaners in it. Just get the cheap stuff you find stocked up at gas stations etc.

Get the -20° blue stuff...that is your best bet, with maybe a bottle of HEET tossed in. I run it in my Pontiac and it does pretty well for me.
 
I am using methanol on my setup for over 3 years with no problem.
I am using the blue washer fluid (winter formula) and I add one bootle of Heet(the yellow one) for every quart of washer fluid.
Few months ago I replaced my intake manifold upper plenum with polished piece and I looked inside the manifold and intake tubes and everything is nice and clean.
 
no you can run it on "any" engine. it just wont be as effective on a naturally aspired engine. correct me if i'm wrong

I used to do the washer fluid plus HEET mix, but instead I just buy staight Methanol and cut it with water.

1 gal Washer fluid - $1.99
1 bottle of HEET- $1.99
=$4.00 for 1 GAL of water/meth MIX!

OR

1 Gal of 100% Methanol - $3.00
= 2 GAL of water/meth MIX!

Any race fuel supplier can get you methanol. I usually buy it 10 gal at a time, that way I don't waste their time for just 1 gal.
