has anyone seen a difference in gas mileage when you did a muffler delete? does it decrease?

LOL "Delete" hahah

So if you 'delete' your muffler, your sound will not only increase, but you have on less obstacle 'suffocating' your exhaust. It should do something for you. But don't expect anything noticeable on the road. And for the MPG, thats a No for me.... That is, I didn't notice a difference (when I tore it off from stunt driving)

I later installed Magnaflow.
Im driving a 2002 Like you, and what made a night and day difference, was installing Magnaflow cat back. It can be pricey, but Magnaflow did a fantastic job on the LS. I noticed considerable more pull from this car with that upgrade. And I got about 30 kms more per tank.

You guys keep costing me more money. I think I will end up doing a Magnaflow catback, just cause lol..

I'm a huge Bassani fan but I can't say I LOVE how that sounds.. Wish I could here some in person. I don't particularly like how my mustang sounds at idle, but god damn it sounds good above 3k rpm..

Are you kidding me, it sounds Fn AWESOME !!!

May need to go to Doctor and get that wax build up removed !

I have a Second Gen with a K&N cold air kit. The K&N plus the muff. delete, I noticed about 1 mpg better fuel mileage. But it can cause you to drive like a badass resulting in worse mileage. At about 50-55 mph in 5th gear it kinda drones, so just speed :D or try to keep it at 60 in a 55 :shifty:

Shifting from 1st to 2nd and 3rd sound pretty good though.

As long as you dont mind a little droning, youll be glad you did it.

Week after week I'm averaging 21mpg with exhaust and the cold air. I lost @ 3mpg with the 'improvements'

I have Flowmaster super 44's and 2.25 pipe the whole way and magnaflow cats. It's loud as ****, most here don't like the flowmasters but I love them.

You might be able to lose the drone with a set of resonators after the rear axle. Or, if it's too loud (for those that think so) a set of 12 inch glasspacks after the rear axle will cut the noise just a bit while cutting resonance, which is what drone is. I know that the shorty glasspacks won't change the tone with mufflers installed, no idea what they will do to the tone it there is no muffler.

Aero Turbine Resonators

My Aero (AR25) resonators solved most of my drone issues without really affecting the sound of my bassanis. It did quiet them down a bit , but im still very happy with them, and unless youre a professional car driver/builder i doubt you would notice any added restriction.

Since my Bassani's i've been averaging 13s. Love that sound

I dunno, I had a system on a 96 Tahoe that sounded really good but had some drone to it. Found when I removed the drone that the rig became a much more pleasant vehicle to ride in, but still had the exhaust tone. With the drone gone, it became easier to talk to others, the radio sounded better, and the exhaust tone was clearer.
