So, this is what happens when I actually drive below the speed limit. A 92 year old lady driving a 78 LTD t-boned me, going though an intersection. I had a green light and was driving straight through the intersection at the time. The car was totally destroyed, it's not the worst that I've seen but it's pretty bad. The opposite side was heavily damaged when the car slid into a very high curb from the force of impact.

This happened about 3 years ago. I was able to salvage the brakes, pumpkin (put a new cover/mount on) Denny's HD aluminum driveshaft, and the J-Modded '98 transmission & PI converter for my '96 LSC. I'm still parting her out, when I have time.

how did you get the amber out of the front marker lights, want to sell those?

on a side note though, that blows about the car, at least you can salvage some of the goodies!
 
The amber is still there, I just covered it in a translucent chrome tape that is sometimes used for rocker panels. They look fine up close, but I am working on customizing a set for my '96, using a clear reflector to replace the amber one and fusing it back together.

The brakes, gears, driveshaft, and tranny are currently installed and being used in my '96.
 
Damn. that sucks dude. She nailed it good enough to take out all the good stuff on the outside.
 
Nice to know the doors can absorb an impact. Considering the damage she did, it's amazing that the door held up as well as it did.
 
How did u get the Lincoln emblem on the stud cover.
 
Omg glad you're ok bro, after all a 78 LTD is one bad car to get hit with, that car must weigh 4,000lbs..jeez..

F**KING old people, just this morning this old man swirved into a lane that 2 truck were in, causing them to beep and slam on the brakes. I was behind and I felt like just ramming this dude off the road.

HOW can they let these people drive? You know what, drive, but after you pass a thorough driving class for the elderly, seriously. I mean imagine if you were in a smaller car? How bout if you had a kid in the car?

Sorry if i'm bitter here, but this happened to me when i first got my 95 Thunderbird, it was in MINT condition, i put super coupe wheels on it and just tuned it up, what an easy engine to work on (4.6):).. And 3 weeks later, same scenario as how your lincoln got hit she tboned me, this woman was in her 70's and hit me with a rental car her insurance lent her because HER CAR WAS IN THE BODY SHOP SHE SMACKED IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there was an ad i found a long time ago for a 93 mark viii and they guy posted his life story in the ad saying, he got into a head on accident at 70mph in his other 94 mark viii with a chevy astro and him and his family of 5(wtf?) werent hurt one bit but the family in the astro died? not one word of a lie.

There are two big ass rails underneath the front bumper cover, so I was pretty sure that the car was safe in a head on.

I'm just amazed at how much damage that lady did to Exotic's car, without buckling the door further.

And No limit's....:eek:
 
Yes, I did re-use the corner lights on my '96.

I modified those centercaps when I was first putting the wheels on the '97 LSC. I ordered a set of chrome centecaps for the chrome ten spokes and shaved them down & beveled the edge to fit into the larger wheel centercap. I then epoxied them together. I have a closeup pic somewhere, I'll see if I can find it.

Thanks, though I wasn't very ok after the accident. I suffered some bad back issues from the accident, at times I would be scared to even get out of bed because it would hurt so much. I have been going through therapy ever since and I just started to get closer to normal about a year ago. I have had several run-ins with senior drivers. I'm not advocating taking their freedom away, there should simply be some testing on a yearly basis on their ability to drive and react to emergency situations as well as being able to pay attention to the road, other vehicles, warning signs, and test their comprehension of the highway laws (drive on right, pass on left, etc.) I won't get carried away with the driver testing subject because everyone needs to be tested more thoroughly and more often than we are now and I can talk about it for a long time. Plus, she only had a $25,000 policy which doesn't even cover my medical expenses, so I get stuck with the remainder of the bill. Thanks, lady.

Damn, NoLimit95, was that your car? Solid hit! Was everyone ok?
