My Bassani Hybrid Exhaust

The one on sale is the bx series. You dont need the regular one unless you live where it snows with salty roads and such.

oh ? it does snow here and they do use a lot of salt on the roads but I'm storing this LS for winters.

the bx series does what ?

the bx series is just a lower grade steel used, 409, costing 115 regular and 89 on sale. The regular bassani mufflers are 302 stainless steel and costs like 180 each. Same everything, except for material quality.

Can anyone confirm the Center inlet, Offset outlet ???

just about to hit the order button on the cart but want to be sure it's the correct one.

(yes, going for the cheaper BX version)
(storing the LS for the winters)

Right on, thanks guys, can sleep now that I know I ordered the right ones.

Some Info

Wasn't sure where to post this but i thought some may be interested.

1) The exhaust volume/tone has noticeably changed from going to "high-flow" cats. Its noticeably louder and throatier.

2) The whine i pointed out in my video is gone, however i'm not exactly sure what caused it...

I had the A/C compressor, serpentine belt, tensioner, and idler pulley replaced and the the high pitched whine is gone. Again, don't know exactly which of these items was the issue, but if you're having the same noise it could be one of them.

I also had the cats replaced but i don't think those were related to the whine.

Video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the exact same whine, I sure hope its not the AC compressor. The other stuff is cheap and easy but the AC is not.

How do you know the one that was on sale was the BX series? I bought the ones that were on clearance and it doesnt say BX anywhere on the box. Just 4820. My sales receipt also says 4820. No BX (BX would be bad for me since I live in MI and this is going to be my daily driver through winter)

Video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll try to get an update video up as soon as I can drive my LS again...i let my front brakes get down to the point of metal on metal contact (shame on me), so now I have to wait, hopefully only until tuesday, for my front brakes from Brakemotive to come in.

I wanted to do the STR brake upgrade but would take weeks at a minimum to even gather the parts...not to mention the cash LOL. So $100ish for rotors and ceramic pads to get my car back on the road for now is not bad.

Hopefully its not the compressor. Mine was leaking pretty bad so i had to get it replaced so i had my guy replace the belt, tensioner, and idler pulley while he was at it.

Any AC issues?

Mine didn't say BX either.

Don't look too much into it dude, its not a big deal, i'm sure even with the weather in your area youll be fine for many years.

I think the bx are not polished, while the regular ones are polished.

That's great, order reimbursement, they don't ship to Canada.
have to get them from a dealer here in Canada who don't honour the current websale.

Anyone willing to pick these up for me and then forward ship them to me.
of course I'd pony up in advance thru Paypal.

???

if not I'm just going to put some Magnaflows on then ... <sighs>

Waiting to hear back from another Canadian dealer but I've already been quoted a higher price then regular sale price.

sucks to be Canadian as times, now doesn't it ?
~ and I have a splitting headache today on top of all this.

Shipping 2 mufflers is usually $100 min. I was very glad when I finally found a Canadian Magnaflow dealer (free shipping, same prices as eBay!).

Any chance you'd PM me details on your Canadian Magnaflow dealer contact ?

http://hottexhaust.com :) Caution: even though their site mentions "All prices are in CAD" on the bottom of every page, they charged my Visa in USD. I am going to talk to them about this as it's an extra $8 due to the conversion itself and the fee!

At least they shipped on the same day, and I had my mufflers the next. Getting them installed this week.

You have to know specifically what you're looking for. Search the forum for some part #s. I got 11224 mufflers for my Gen II as I already PM'd you :)

i see USD as well, must be different for US and Canadian users.

Yeah, location based on IP most likely.

Game on (back on) Bassani's still in my future thanks to a great member of this forum.
